I searched for this and no results came up, I apologize if this has been posted before, so here goes. Anyway, I watched the movie Top Gear: Apocalypse a couple of days ago and it was very entertaining indeed :D . But after watching it, I came up with an intersting question I want to ask the members of the GTPlanet community; if in the event of a global petrol crisis, and you was given a barrel of fuel containing the last drops of fuel on earth, what car would you take for your last drive?

For me, it would have to be one of my favourite low powered cars:

A life without petrol is not worth living, I'll take this:

BTW, this should be in the cars in general section.

Might as well try and find somewhere with petrol, and experience 18,00mph at the same time.

Now that you mentioned it, this thread should actually be in there. I thought it should be here because it's a question based on a film, but I'll get it moved as soon as possible.

EDIT: The thread is now moved to the right place. Hooray!

I would wait a few months then sell it for loads of money.

Otherwise a McLaren F1 car from 2012. Or red bull from 2011.

I'd spend it on a Smart Car, drive up to Alaska myself and start drilling.

 But there would be no oil left to be turned into petrol  . Interestingly, a fuel crisis like this might happen in the future  .

Yes, except for the environmentally protected areas.

Probably the Lamborghini Murcielago SV for me right now:

Have to work out a way of getting it to run out of fuel inside my conservatory though, where it could live as an artwork.

The idea is that life without petrol is not worth living.

So I would drink it.

Failing that, in the event I just went and didn't do that, I would take this:

2004+Mitsubishi-Lancer+Evolution+VIII-MR.jpg

Evo VIII MR GSR (but not the FQ400, just the FQ320 so the journey lasts longer). The ultimate Evo sans FQ400 Evo X. But the VIII is the better Evo.

So this would be a "What is your favorite car? And by favorite, I mean, there was a fuel shortage or car shortage and you could only have one car to use the last bit of fuel on...what would you drive." To which May and Hammond would ask, "What about alternative fuels?"

Anyway....One word:

Aileron.

It would cost quite a lot to make every car people have run on alternative fuels... But still possible.

EDIT: This is fuel well spent 👍 .

I would either use it all on one pass in a Top Fuel drag car, or be sensible and drive an F1.

If you used a Top Fuel drag car then the fuel will be done in a blink of an eye  !

The greatest and best rally/race cars of all time, the Group B rally cars.

I can't decides which one, it would have to be between-
Renault 5 Turbo
Lancia 037
Lancia Delta S4
Audi Quattro
Ford RS200
Lancia Stratos

it would have to be this
brm_v16.jpg

The BRM V16, has a 1.5 liter Twin Speed Supercharged v16 that makes 600Bhp @ 14000Rpm! The main reason though is the SOUND of the Thing, heres a vid of a sound recording of it on the track. gives me chiles every time.

A Ferrari 250 GT California. A classic, great noise and a beautiful car.

I'd drive an old Mini Cooper. :D

When the fuel runs out, I'd load it up on a trailer and tow it home with a Mini Cooper Electric. :dopey:

Sounds like a good plan.

James May had the same choice as you in the Top Gear Apocalypse film... Good choice 👍 .
