The same reason any other track is on there, for driving. I think it's a perfect track to test and practice cars on.

Well there's no free Rome on it,that's for sure. It's still a fun track...even with all the cones... Enjoy it while it last.,it may not be in GT6.

Well considering Top Gear is a popular motoring show, and GT is a popular driving simulator, id say that at the present moment, i would have been surprised if gt5 didn't include TGTT from the get-go.

Also there's an enjoyable yet simple set of challenges there. to keep you entertained.

Makes a pretty good Drag Track too.

GTPlanet's last Parity race event was on the TGTT. It was a ton of fun and many cones died. :) It really is a great track.

Sark

This track isn't useless.. You'll just need to roc it the right way. Go figure :sly:

It's the entertainment circuit, you can do all kind of events there.

Great when your bored... "Set best time with kicking all cones over"

And also for Gymkhana

A word.

If your useless post or part of the follow up conversation gets deleted by a member of staff and you get an infraction for it, you don't go and re-post it.

Do this again and you will be leaving.

From what i remember this track was mostly used for demolition derbies and drag racing by the online community.
I think it's alright for killing a couple of minutes if anything, but i don't like it that much.

I wish they had developed far more Top Gear content to go along with the track.

Trying to finish first in the Lotus challenge with all driving aids off except abs is at 1 has proven to be the most frustrating part of GT 5. That car is unbelievably difficult to drive and doesn't reflect well on the Lotus name. After many attempts 2nd is the best so far.

Top Gear Test Track, foget aboud it!👎👎

As a fan of bbc's top gear I love the test track

I just wish it had standing start capability so you can try to pull lap times like they do on the show

You still can but you have to pull up to the line, its a hassle

Keep in mind the track is a figure 8 so it has very little actual racing applications. It is what it is - a test track where you can pound on your car and test its capabilities

Which is unfortunate, because PD have done so little to make the track worthwhile that it's laughable. I hate to make the comparison, but PD could have done much, much more with the Top Gear Test Track.

I mean, just a couple things:
-A Power Board
-Standing start timed laps (GT5 already has standing starts, so nothing new)
-1v1 races against The Stig (at least put the guy in The Stig's costume)
-Time trials against other players
-Actual Top Gear replay angles

With the exception of the last item, all the things I listed have already been done in GT5. For the first one, they can add some sort of results listing like you get in SSRX, except name it "Power Board" or something. With the next three, you already get these sorts of things in other parts of GT5. So it should be really easy to implement.

Just cheat... 👍

I had all gold on TG without cheats before I got my wheel and I've never cheated before apart from to earn money, I can't remember if I've done it with the wheel yet and can't be bothered to check if I have because I'll get asked to join someone and my PS3 won't connect to the server properly. It's a hard (ish) event, but definitely possible. If you don't want to cheat, just keep trying, you'll get it eventually. Just remember, it's on Comfort tyres, so smooth, calm inputs are the order of the day. :)

How about car soccer/football? :) Good fun when you're pitting against some Tacomas and punting a Fiat 500 around.

The top gear test track is good for:
-Test to see if your setup pushes (is tight) or if its free
-gymkhana
-drifting
-rally setups and practice
-games like capture the flag, soccer, invasion etc...
-test times against the real ones
-open testing place (it’s a freaking airport you can practice anything you need too)
