In no particular order

1. Rubber banding - is this NFS? The REAL fake driving simulator.
2. Brain dead slot car AI :dunce: - they will pit you and plow through you to stay on line.
3. No gear ratio adjustment - (tuning was great in prologue, why mess it up?)
4. Grinding for experience - but hey you get an award for racing the same track 100x. Farming and grinding? What is this WOW?
5. Can't hear sound of your engine over other cars (hard to tell when to shift)
edit: I first had this problem driving against racing cars with a regular car in the hood view. This is not a problem in every race.
6. Various graphical glitches - tearing etc.
7. Horrible headlight modeling (example the Tuscan night challenge) the headlights shine about a 4' radius in front of the car.
8. No brake upgrades. Why?
9. Terrible sound. We've gone from hoover to Dyson.
10. Cockpit view too bouncy. I can't play the faster cars w/o getting a headache. (just my opinion) In real life your eyes naturally compensate so you don't notice when driving on a bumpy road. Forced to choose a different view.

LoL damn no brake upgrades? Oh yea this isn't forza...but it does make sense for slow and weak cars. Weird, didn't notice this yet as I don't have crazy cars yet.

ya I figured I'd be the minority on the bumpy cockpit. I'm willing to forgo that one if PD fixes the other 9. =D

3. No gear ratio adjustment - (tuning was great in prologue, why mess it up?)

I've been able to change my gear ratios...

1. Agree, but could be related to your 'level'?
2. AI has been improved, but there is still room to improve
3. Agreed
4. Dunno what grinding is
5. Don't agree
6. Graphics are limited by PS3 that's a big bummer, also see tearing which is not acceptable
7. Don't agree
8. Agree
9. Don't agree
10. Don't agree, I like the bouncyness, it gives me more road information
11. You forgot the most important one: game saves are LOCKED. That means if your PS3 dies (let's say from YLOD), you CANNOT transfer the saved games to your new PS3. Not even when you have made a backup on forehand.

I'm disappointed in some ways with the game, like graphics and impact physics, but the experience is way better than any previous Gran Turismo game. Polyphony Digital should focus on less different race styles, stick to tarmac (no rally, no karts) and put more effort in realism.

3. No gear ratio adjustment - (tuning was great in prologue, why mess it up?)

I've been able to change my gear ratios...

I'm wondering about this.. I bought the Fully adjustable gearbox for my R32 GT-R (so it's a Premium too), and all I could adjust was the final ratio/top speed?!

How can it be a "fully customisable" gearbox, when I CAN'T adjust the ratios!?

  1. I find the Rubber Banding isn't that bad. NFS's is HORRIBLE.
  2. I do agree here. The AI is pretty horrible, I've lost so many races because they simply ram me off the track so they can keep their precious line. NFS on the other hand, has really good AI.
  3. Niche audience, I personally don't care, but I can see how some might not like this. This one is very subjective though.
  4. Yeah, they definitely should have sorted this out better. I wrote up a really nice alternate system they could use, if they wanted to re-write the system in a patch. [See here]
  5. I can hear my car just fine.
  6. Yeah, there are a few graphics glitches... But as far as I can tell, nothing they can't optimize with a patch. (here's hoping they do patch it).
  7. I guess they wanted to go for a "weak" effect, to create the atmosphere of not being able to see anything.
  8. Not needed I guess? Though I did like them.
  9. SOME of the sounds are awesome. Others... yeah not so much.
  10. I love the bouncy view :)
