How many shared cars can you have on one account online at once?

No, the answer is not six. So far, I have had at least 18 in my online shared list at once, this apparently being possible through what could only be seen as a bug or a glitch if you like. I haven't seen much if any discussion about being able to have more then six, so now I'm wondering if anyone has ever pushed this number to it's max... is there a maximum?

The bug... or whatever you'd like to call it can be repeated quite easily, just by not saving your game before you switch users on your PS3. As long as you don't go back into the profile to see what's there, you can add more then six...

So, has anyone ever pushed the number of online cars to more then eighteen? or tried to see if you could find the upper limit?

You may be able to actually put the "Share" tag on more than 6 (I've never tested), but isn't there still only 6 windows available to show cars that people visiting your profile can borrow? I guess it shows the first 6 on your Shared list? :odd:

Actually... you can not put the share tag on more then 6 cars in your garage. However, online will show more then 6 cars in a friend's profile. Those cars beyond the sixth will be off to the left, and there is a arrow that allows you to scroll over to the others, then back again ( using the arrow on the right, when your scrolled to the left )

What appears to happen is this... Once you share 6 cars, they get uploaded, however if you don't save your data locally, the next time you get on GT5, it doesn't really know those cars are online. You can then add another six cars... rinse and repeat. I've had at least 18 cars online at one time, as verified by looking at them, using another user account which is my 'friend'.

Basically, if the local part of the game doesn't know you already have cars online, it will let you add more. Then, the online portion is perfectly happy to display them using the scrolling methods I previously described.

Interesting, I've never seen more than 6 cars on any of my friends online cars. I'll have to keep an eye out for this.

Thanks for the explanation. 👍

I, for one, haven't, but it's not actually a bad idea. That way you can share quite a few cars for friends to use if you're about to head off for the holidays or you can share a lot more of the untradeable cars permanently from a secondary account you don't plan on logging back in anytime soon. Actually wonder now whether I could share every color X2010 on the one account, so Bob has any color choice on my main. Never really thought of trying it, but I guess it's not really a surprise that you can do it, as I've seen people do it for their B-Spec drivers. Should work the same for cars.

I stumbled upon this when doing permanent glitch saves. It seems I may have been one of the few who've seen this behavior at this point. I've done some searches on the topic, and really haven't seen anyone saying much about it.

I guess maybe I'll have to try to figure out how many I can add. I have some minor fear that if I go to far, I may never be able to clear the issue...

Right now, the way I can clear the cars that get 'stuck' online, is by looking at my own profile when my local save thinks there are no cars online. This clears everything that's stuck online.

One cool part of this, is that when these cars are stuck online like this, you can still use the car yourself... unlike when your cars are online the normal way.

Cool... I haven't gotten my whole garage in there yet, but I did add another six cars last night, I've got 24 cars in there now.

I wonder, do these every get cleared out, by any other way then when you look at your own profile? I mean, do they ever get cleared though some update or something that Polyphony or Sony may do?
