Yesterday there was the reveal of the cars and drivers of the Super TC2000.

Peugeot is defending their championship title this year with an 408 in new colors

You are right, it's touringcar related. I thought I put it the production class but I see just now that it is related to GT racing and not touring cars. Will move it in here 👍

So here it is:

Peugeot joins TCR series with the 308. Loeb's racing team participates in Valencia test.

edit: I have checked with Sébastien Loeb Racing themselves if anything could be confirmed but currrently they are only there for the tests. No official announcement as of yet!

Is it part of the rules to have at least one or two attractive women in the background of all trackside interviews?

It seems so. All the pictures they put on social networks almost always présent beautiful women. Never I've seen a driver being interviewed alone.

The series seems very accessible for the people and drivers are easily to talk to. Cars sound great and but they are a step below the tc2000.

Only problem I have is that it is hard to follow as I don't speak spanish.

@G_Parrilla has explained once that the drivers are like superstars and show up in TV programs regularly as well. That is for the TC2000. Maybe he would like to add something for the TC Nacional as well ? ;)

I don't follow TN like other categories, but yes, it's a roster category for TC2000. There was just one time I went to see a TN race a few years ago. Its really easy to get close to the drivers from all categories, there was even a TV show where some of them would drive a taxi and pick up old ladies and such trying to see if they recognized them.

And about the girls, well, just like the yelling commentators and the public doing barbecues trackside, you are not racing in Argentina if they are not there
(About the bbq, I was once sitting at the stands facing the pits, and three random dudes appeared with a grill and started cooking a pork sitting a few meters from the S/F line. might be the most random moment I saw in a racing weekend).

Thanks @G_Parrilla When I watch the videos of the races on youtube it has an atmosphere if "having a good time" everybody seems to smile and it is almost "familly" like. I think you are having one of the best and greatest series in the world

Why is the grid soo much smaller?

Renault looks to be spending much more then the rest, 4 factory cars and car looks awesome:

@mustafur

Maybe @G_Parrilla can explain a bit the format because I was under the impression as well for the first to parts. The last one seemed to have the full grid.

The Renaults look great but I have no idea what they spend budgetwise. Same for the other factory cars.

There are three types of races over the weekend. The "super 8" quali, a one lap shootout of eight cars each that decide the starting order of sunday morning series.
The series have half the grid each, and serve as quali for the final and actual race. Drivers score points from these as well but just a few.
And then there is the long and full grid race :)👍

Probably 2 Citroën C4 Lounge will make their TC2000 début at the 200 km of Buenos Aires on the 31th of July. The team who is preparing the cars is Scuderia FE.

@G_Parrilla Sorry to bother you again.... I always thought that Super TC2000 or TC2000 were the same but since this evening I know it's not the case. Is the TC2000 the "privateer" version of the Super TC2000 with lower specs ? Silhouettes seem to be the same?

Do I understand correctly we have from low to high:
  • Turismo Nacional Class 1
  • Turismo Nacional Class 2
  • Turismo Nacional Class 3
  • TC2000
  • Super TC2000
You have any idea of their performances ? Super TC2000 was around 400bhp if I remember well. Produced by a radical V8 engine?

In 2012 the TC2000 introduced the Radical V8 and the series was renamed "Super".
The old spec engines (2L Inline 4 if I remember correctly) are still used in the new just-TC2000 series that is the natural step before the Super TC.
The V8 produces ~430bph and I remember the old I4 making ~310bph in 2012.

TCR is live from Bahrain RIGHT NOW. I'm watching the stream on Burningwhee1s, but I think the stream is on the YouTube as well.

Looks like there's a few new cars this year, including an Alfa Romeo! I'm stoked for this series

Edit: just saw that the world's tallest racing driver, Bolkovic, is doing TCR this year....if he can make a good go of it this year, maybe we'll get Brno on the calander next year?? Fingers crossed!

Fun race. The Seats look mighty strong down the straights, Honda looked better in the middle sector.

I can't tell the difference between the Seats and the Opals  Also, did I hear correctly, there's an Alfa Romeo in the field this year?

Yes. It's at the back.
