I am looking into this game and it looks quite a bunch of fun.

1. I see it includes two discs if I am not mistaken...why?

2. What comparisons do you see in this and GT4?

1. My copy doesn't have two discs, so I'm not sure about the first point. I wasn't aware any others had more than one disc.

2. The games are very similar. I'd say that the graphics are a little better in TT. They use the same physics engine but TT is probably more realistic than GT4 too, though there are still weird moments, such as the odd-feeling snaking you can get into when you go onto the grass or gravel.

Sound effects are good, better than GT4, either view is good to race from (I use the excellent on-board view). Lots of bikes/scooters to choose from.

Not as much to do as GT4 - and you don't buy the bikes or tuning bits for them - you do races to win each model, and when you win them almost all of them give you the option to fit a sports exhaust. Regardless, all the bikes offer small tuning parameters like final drive or damping. There are series like there are in GT4, and you win bikes from these too. Whenever you win a race bike, it lets you choose your race number.

I think most of GT4's tracks have survived into TT, and you can race at Valencia as well.

And of course, the photomode is carried over, only without the locations - track stuff only:

I'd have to agree with homeforsummer. As much as I love the game I was a bit disappointed when I found out you couldn't buy/sell your own bikes; you had to win them and keep them even if they were crap yamaha scooters :)

To add onto what homeforsummer said, the game is like GT4 because of the graphic engine. Aside from that, the game does have a few features that make it stick out on its own like the fact you can customize your rider and save your replays to a USB drive and upload to a website..FYI, my replays are uploaded this site:

You might find that a race grid of only 3 AI riders a bit disappointing, but its obvious why PD settled for 3 given PS2's technical limitations. Still though, TT is an awesome title and even converted me into a motorycle enthusiast.

It's a good game, but feels a little incomplete, especially if you've played a lot of GT4. Think of it as GT4:Epilogue - Motorcycle Edition. The lack of a decent size grid and the fact that those few A.I. riders are generally easy to beat, gives the game a slightly lonely feeling. On the plus side it does have some good features like the customizable look of the riders (even down to their height!) and their riding style and the fact that you can actually crash and fall off the bike rather than just bounce of a wall with no real penalty like other PD games.

Overall it's a good game with plenty of bikes and circuits to ride them on, but it's charms are short lived and you'll soon get bored with it.

If you're interested in a motorcycle game, it's really one-of-a-kind. No other bike game has this selection of tracks and street bikes, and although the physics get rather flaky in extreme situations (homeforsummer mentioned the impossibly slow and smooth "snaking" you get when you lose traction), the game still does a great job of making you feel like you're riding a motorcycle.

Kinda like when you compare Gran Turismo to other racing games, the question of Tourist Trophy is this -- do you want a motorcycle racing game, or a motorcycle riding game? The limited grid and race options make TT a poor choice for the former, but IMO it's the only choice for the latter.

Get Tourist Trophy!!! You will love it!
As Homeforsummer said, it has an excellent onboard view, and as The Cracker said, it can feel a little lonely once you've got the skills to pass the pack and lead the race but there's no greater feeling than hitting that perfect line and ringing the neck out of your bike, you tend to feel a bit disappointed in yourself when you run wide on a corner :D
TZ250 ROCKS!!!
