I was looking at a photomode picture of the Toyota 7 race car and the driver seems to be sitting to high. I absolutely love the car (twin turbos on the back).

Just wondering what you people thought.

Photomode shot.

Try it on Trial Mountain. Roll it over and kill the driver.

^ Win. 👍

@ OP: Booster seat. Or the man in the real pic is very short.

Yeah, a roll bar does absolutely no good if it's below the driver's head!

Not all race car drivers are 5'5" you know.

Well we known that Mark Webber would not drive this car

Japanese people are short.

Awkward. Maybe there's a preset driving position for standards or something like that, and in this car that should have a reaally low seat height it looks awkward. I support the man who said "Try to roll it on Trial Mountain", and take a pic of the driver's head supporting all the car's weight . Most likely it'll just show that, or the driver's head will go trough the floor, but do it for the laugh 👍.

Also, I got a question. What's the car doing with those Daihatsu and Yamaha badges? Does that anything have to do with the car's engine? Maybe Yamaha helped developing the engine and that's why it develops such a tremendous amount of HP/Liter.

Racist much?

How?

Maybe he said it in a rough way, but it's generally accepted that Asian people aren't usually very tall. It's like saying German people like beer, or that people in The Netherlands are tall. Just a generalized concept about a race or culture, doesn't mean it's offensive or racist in anyway.

You calling me small!?

You calling me small!?

I'm saying that the average male height in Japan is 1.715 Meters, the average male height in Netherlands is 1.837, and the average male height in Colombia, where I live, is 1.706.

If you said Japanese people are, in average and in general acceptation, short you'd be right. And if you said that Colombian people are, in average and general acceptation, shorter than Japanese people, this data I've found in the Interwebs would prove you right. It's, like I said, a generalized concept based on averages and stereotypes that isn't necessarily racist. It doesn't imply it's always true (For instance, I'm 1.85 Meters tall, versus the 1.706 Meter average of the country I was born) and doesn't imply either any kind of racial superiority.

Now, quit the pointless argument about races and let's focus on the thread: What would happen to a tall driver's head in a Toyota 7 should the car roll?

You can roll it but the drivers head doesn't go into the ground, stupid invisible extra roll bar :grumpy:

The reason it has a Daihatsu badge is because Toyota owns Daihatsu IIRC.

I'm 14 and I'm 5'5.
Half Asian here well Filipino!

That's considered short considering I have a brother a year older at 5'11. Yet you probably still have a growth spurt but at this moment yes, you're short.

lol i was 6'4" at 13 years old

6'1 at 11 :dopey: but then I stopped growing :grumpy:

Thank god I'm not the only one that noticed this. My Bob looked retarded when I was doing the historic racing cup in this thing.

Im happy i dont have to drive this thing though.
If i flipped my head would be 🤬!!!!!! but i wanna drive it so bad...

Shut up! :(
Why you guys so tall!

 Haha that looks stupid! Never took any notice of this prior. Yeah do what someone said on the first page about flipping it, I bet theres an invisible wall around his shoulders and head. Its a bit like "look at me everyone I'm in a Toyota 7, yeah!"

Daihatsu and Yamaha are members of the same industrial group as Toyota. They were bought ages ago from this automotive giant. And yes the engine was developed by Yamaha. Remember in the mid '90s in Formula 1 the Tyrell-Yamaha team..? Interesting, isn't it?

And if you open the bonnet in a Celica or Corolla T-Sport (2ZZ-GE engine) and look at the side of the cylinder head you will see the Yamaha logo and name;)...

P.S. You say tremendous amount of HP/ltr... And bare in mind that it was in 1970!!!!! Stunning...

P.S.2 The ND logo is NipponDenso now called Denso... Emmmm... Denso Sard Supra... Makers of ECUs and ignition components...

5'10" here. I'd like to be taller, but at least I'm not like super short.

This thread is not called "how tall are you?" 💡
