Here's my dream Laguna Seca:

I know we should let the layouts speak for themselves, but I just can't help but explain my design choices by adding some commentary
It's one of my favorites tracks ever. Love lapping it, over and over again.
I have my gripes with certain sections for sure.
My main goal was to make the 'Screw a lot faster, the whole course really, and liven up some of the tighter, constricting corners.
First of all, had to keep the Andretti hairpin as is, to me it's just as important as Corkscrew.
For turn 3, which I hate, I went ahead and lessened the angle to get rid of that horrible understeer. I do like turn 4 though, so I tried to keep the same profile for it in my version. Now we get a longer run into turn 5, for better overtaking possibilities. I also took made the exit for turn 5 much more mellow allowing for a much faster way though, it's the new Rahal kink for my version of the course. Turn 6 is a mild kink, another for turn 7, then you get to the current Rahal kink, which is now turn 8. A little slower now, but with the enhanced possibility of getting to the kink in traffic, just as dangerous!
Now we're at the completely new turn 9, a quick right bend leading into 10, afterwhich is the new setup straight for the 'Screw. This new shortened straight may not seem like it'll make things spicier in the famous downhill S, but it's not about the length, but the angle.
Coming into the Corckscrew this way will push drivers through much harder and more intensely. You're gonna have to really brace yourself for the bottom this time. This it'll be a test of who's brave enough to brake less.
Rainey curve is kept intact, as well as the following banked right, which I adore.
After that, the goal was to lengthen the front straight, so I accomplished that by adding a nice little hairpin for an extra passing opportunity. Then I snaked through the back hill there, adding a fast S ('cause I just love those things) and a nice simple square series of corners for the end, leading onto the new front straight, which is extended from its current half-mile to .65 of a mile.
