Track Talk #3: Laguna Seca

Ahh, the Seca enduro. This is where I won my first F1 car. The '86. It was my Toyota GT 1 Road Car and the Viper Oreca duking it out the entire way. I bet there must have been 30 lead changes. :) I would have only won by a second or so if he hadn't pitted on the last lap. :(

yeah, that's where i got my first F1 car too. I was racing the 787B that I won from Like the Wind with my friend the Escudo. The Vertigo was the only car i didn't lap. the CLK Touring car kept spinning out in the kitty litter on the last corner.

It was me in the C5r, and the Vertigo, which was doing 37 laps between pit stops. It was a close one! Great track.
Won something poxy like an S2000LM

Well, it's Mazda Speedway, so I like it. ;) :D

I always test cars here. First I do a lap, as fast as I can. then I slam on the brakes at the bottom of the front strech, and then turn and ramp over the curbing. Then I floor it on the little road next to the main track, and go in between the cones, and just keep going through the pit. I slam the brakes again, and make the tunr and fly up the corkscrew. I then do a suspension test on the curbing, and do a 1-wheel-peel and go down the hill(the wrong way) with a tire spinning. I make the next turn, and slam the bakes and stop on the little driveway thingy. I turn around, and as fast as I can shoot up the hill, and fly at the top, and I hit the wall, and watch the replay.

At the top of the hill, there is a cool camra view(on the second lap)that faces the curbing and when you fly at the top, it's an awsome view of your car in the air. :D

This is my first post!!
Because Laguna is my favorite track in the game I felt I should pop my proverbial message cherry in this thread.
Well, enough with the dribble...
I race this track most of the time. Anytime I get a new car I take it here in stock form and give it a good 2 laps. I always get a good idea of the abilities of the car this way. After playing gt2 for a couple years (on and off for most of the time) I had all of laguna down pat except for the corkscrew. After hours of settings runs there with my, then new, vertigo, and a couple of the laguna enduros I have completely mastered this track. With my f090/s I can get 59:xx on my best runs. With my other race cars I can get somewhere around 1:15 consistently. Enough rambling from me now, off to endlessly tune suspension till every car is just right.

Aah Laguna Seca. One of my favourite (if not the favourite) tracks - and the one I **** up on most! It's a stange world...

It's crazy because I have the corkscrew completely sussed and very rarely mess it up - it's the easier bends I over cook.

Still, I dream of taking a NISMO 400R on a track day there in RL.... one day eh. :(

Love Laguna

Im with you Axle...the corkscrew is so perfect that in the replay when I watch it in the race cam(when the cam bumps around the track) and my Lancer comes down the hill...i get goose bumps

the loose corners i got them down too...but those sand traps get me every stinkin time ...if im not watchin what im doin

But My Lancer EVO VII takes it no problem

I would like to take my 2002 lancer O-Z Racing Rally edition out there and see what it can do
