I'm just about to buy ps3 slim and sell my old ps3
what and how to save all important files so they can be move to new console

That method works great. 👍

I had to do the same thing. I backed up all my video, audio, and game saves to an external usb hard drive, but it turned out that I didn't need to. After the data transfer utility finished, my new slim was identical to the old ps3 as far as software, games, and all files.
