I just gave up gt sport in disgust and brought P Cars 2. Anyone got any helpful info before I start or do I just jump in the deep end and find out for myself?

Did the same a month ago... and I've been loving it.

Personally, I'm just working my way through the career, and then picking off the invitational and advocate events when they pop up... get to play a great variety of cars and tracks this way. Already worked my way through the WSC Championship, and just have 1 race left in the LMP Championship at Le Mans (2 hour minimum race length). Will do the single seater stuff next (ending in the Indy Championship).

If I don't want to start another round of career, I just pick a car and go to the 'Ring.

Just jump in the deep end & enjoy it like I did :)

300Sl in the wet is awesome... driftastic :D

As @hasslemoff says, Yorkie065's youtube videos are a great help :)

Just remember, have fun. The game can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be.

I race the AI between 90/75 & 100/100 (skill/aggression) All aids off except abs on low, (can't get used to SC or TC, it interferes with my driving style).
I use both pad & wheel, a wheel is better but my 3 youtube videos were done using the pad.

Put the effort into it & you shall be rewarded with a big smile :)

My favourite track btw :)

I just jumped in and picked tracks and cars I like. No grinding, everything is available at the get-go except the DLC which is really nice. Tried some career events, but I currently prefer creating my own.

I don't think there is any right or wrong way - it's up to what suits you!

I jumped from GT6 to PC1 when it became obvious that the GT franchise was not going in the right direction for me. I use a wheel, so the following suggestions probably only make sense to wheel users - I made sure all driving aids were off (including ABS) and that I was using cockpit view for the most realistic experience and started putting in plenty of time at tracks that I knew well with a low powered car with not a lot of grip - a Caterham Classic which sadly isn't in PC2. Having learnt this car it was relatively easy to progress onto other cars with more grip and power.

For PC2, personally I would start in a similar way - try the Road G Ford Escort RS1600 - it takes a delicate touch not to spin it.

I suggest avoid tuning and learn to drive the cars on standard settings - they can all be raced as they are if you vary your style / driving technique. Plenty of time to play about with tuning later!

The Ginetta Junior is a great little car so that would make a great alternative first car and if you want to start the career try the Ginetta Junior Championship - you could learn the car and all the tracks first, then you'll probably get more pleasure from the Championship.

I run the AI at 100% aggression all the time and just vary the AI strength - it is very inconsistent so you may need to keep tweaking it.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the game - personally I feel like I've had plenty of value from the game so far and I'm still really enjoying it!

I'd start by completing your signature and let us know what platform and rig you play it on. Advice changes considerably based on those.

You might also take a read at the top of Asturbo's buglist thread at SMS's forum, so you don't get confused when a bug hits you and you think it's something you did wrong..!

A bit of info about what kind of racing or driving you prefer (road cars, race cars, historic, drifting, rallycross etc.) might help us help you, too.
