Yeah yeah yeah. Book off work, put on a rain slicker, and tell your sick Auntie you'll come see her just as soon as Optimus and Megatron finish duking it out.

Okay, let's amend it to opening WEEKEND.

Forget Optimus and Megatron duking it out, what about Megan Fox bent over Bumblebee's engine???? Surely that was the highlight!!!!

I saw it on UK opening weekend so I'm good :D

...I had the pleasure of seeing it the day before it opened. Unfortunately, we had to go to the later show that night, and while there were plenty of nerds like me in there, I would have liked to have more...

Haha, exact opposite here. I go towards the closing period, generally during the week, when virtually no one is there. Its nice and quiet, lots of room, etc. Though, what is odd is after closing, when NO ONE is in the theater but you. I worked janitorial, and that was just creepy at times.

And Sting, you may just be right there. :sly:

I still can't believe people go to see a movie knowing it's directed by Bay and is about alien robots that transform into everyday objects, and still walk out afterwards complaining that it was loud and had plot holes and was little more than eye-candy. THIS USED TO BE A CARTOON FOR CHILDREN, PEOPLE!! What the hell were you expecting?
I just noticed this. A poorly assembled movie is a poorly assembled movie. Even if it is based on a children's franchise. And that can't be used as an excuse in this case, either, because its a PG-13 movie.

News!

Autoblog
In what amounts to little more than a throwaway line in an interesting article detailing the between between the principals of DreamWorks and its current parent company, Paramount, we're given confirmation on when we should expect to see the sequel to this summer's Transformers. With the film grossing over $700 million worldwide (and a big DVD release on the way that will shovel more money into the coffers), a Transformers 2 was a foregone conclusion. And now, thanks to LA Times scribe Claudia Eller, we know that Summer 2009 is when it's set to hit screens. Both Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are signed on, according to the article.

Those of you who loved/hated the wall-to-wall making-of coverage while the first film was in production should prepare for more of the same in 2008. After all, the TF sequel should include new robots and new cars for us to gab about. Maybe the second time around, GM will even have some on-screen company from other carmakers, too.

I can't wait. I must have more!

Well, interesting news there. While I'm at, what would you cars or planes would you like to see some of your transformers as?
I think some these would make sense just for Nostaltic reasons, while others I 've thought of since I was stoked for the first movie:
Skywarp and Thundercracker: I would think it would be sensable that they could be F-22s like starscream since they were F15s like he was in G1
Hot Rod: For whatever reason, the first thing that came to mind was the Ford GT. It just seems like thats Hot rod.
Arcee: Well after seeing a design concept, I like the idea of her being a motorcycle and think she could perhaps be either a Suzuki GSX-R or a Honda CBR125R
Cup: A Toyota Tundra.
Ramjet, Dirge and Thrust: Though I have a huge distaste for this plane, I think they could the JSF
Perceptor: though his size would be reduced greatly, Perhaps a Telescope since That his trademark form
Wheeljack: A Gembella Mirage GT. Technically though this is a slightly different Carrera GT, this isn't built by porsche so this would go around their little excuse of "not having their cars portrayed as a war toy". Take that,VAG:sly:
Thats all I could think of for now. How about you guys?

Ugh, Michael Bay is back? Nearly every non fanboy complaint was a Bay issue. Is Spielberg so old that he didn't catch the plotholes big enough for an Autobot to fall through? That could be why he didn't get motion sick in all the camera shaking scenes, he couldn't see it.

Simply put, $$MONEY$$ makes the world go 'round...

Just got to see this movie now that it's out on DVD. Lots to like - cool giant ****ing robots, hot chick, cool military equipment blasting everything in sight, giant ****ing robot fight, Sam was charismatic, bumblebee was charismatic, prime's voice was awesome.

Also, lots not to like - Humans in the movie way too much, too many sideplots that didn't matter, not enough focus during fight scenes, bizarre ending, painful scenes that tried to be funny but really didn't work.

Overall, I'll give it a 👍

But, there is one giant mistake in the movie that I simply cannot believe went uncorrected. They blame NASA JPL for the Beagle crash!!!! WTF!!!! That wasn't JPL!

- Beagle wasn't a rover (they showed video of a rover)
- The rovers don't have sound capability
- The rovers don't have full motion video
- You can watch the landings live so it's not like there would be a cover up - let alone the international cover-up that would be required for the US to hide something discovered by the EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY!!!

In the two seconds that they talked about Mars they screwed up more details than I would have imagined possible.

I'd like to conclude by saying that Beagle 2 was not a JPL mission.

Thank you.

You expect Michael Bay to be accurate and not have plot holes? As long as stuff blows up the way he wants he sends it out.

Plot holes I expect. But blaming one space agency for the mistakes of another is just wrong.

Lemme see if I can explain this. If there was a line in the movie that said "Coke is too sweet, that's why I drink Pepsi", you'd have to fix that right?

Or if they said "Man, Michelin tires are so unreliable. Remember when they kept self destructing on all those Chevy Explorers a while back?"

Or "I'd never buy an S2000. Rotary engines are unreliable."

WTF! Wikipedia exists for a reason.

There'll probably be a third, Peter Cullen himself has stated to expect at least two more Transformers films. The transformers I'd like to see are:

Autobots:
Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime - Had quite a main role in the cartoon film, but not the series, so I'd like to see where they could take him.

Kup - Telling all his stories like in the cartoon movie.

Blur - I loved him in the cartoon movie and his quick-talking.

DINOBOTS!

Decepticons:
SOUNDWAVE - I so wished he would've been in the first film. A devart member did a design for him and it looks awesome. (http://timshinn73.deviantart.com/art/Soundwave-Wallpaper-50216886) and as a bonus we'd get Ravage and Laserbeak!

Skywarp and Thundercracker - The 'seekers' were always around in the cartoon, they should be in the movie, and my theory is because Starscream got away in the 1st film, he'll find those two back on Cybertron, in their Cybertronian forms.

Galvatron - The only logical way I can see Megatron coming back. They better get Leonard Nimoy to voice him like the film.

Shockwave - He was in my PSP game, I want him in the film in his cartoon role as Guardian of Cybertron

Holy crap soundwave looks amazing. Certainly looks at home with the other decepticons!
