I don't give a crap if he's the angel or the ass.
I'd rather have some sort of support from my alliance than just "Who cares?"
If that's the way the Alliance wants to work, I'll glady quit.

I'm not in your alliance. I am in Paragon after a week or two of actually working at it.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

How can you expect others to help you when you don't even care enough to help yourself.

The only person you have to blame for becoming a farm, is you.

Fine, I don't care. I got the same crap last time. I asked for help even after trying to help myself, but no one cared.

Thank you boom. You are my freaking hero.

Obviously you didn't help yourself. Your population is just about the same as it was last time you asked for help. Are your attackers getting anything from their raids?

Build your crannies up more. That way you can save more resources even if nothing is being taken from you in raids. If you want an army, build one and then send them to a buddy that is close and willing, and one that isn't being attacked.

What do you want others to do to help?

Hmm, now I see how I might have come off wrong. We helped last time with that same advice.

I thought you didn't take it purposely. Sorry for being a dick.

But I gotta obey my title!

Rick, where are you in teh game, location wise?

I can't help yet in that I don't have troops.

But I'd say crannies, like Dave mentioned... and check in more often?

Thank you both Boom and Dave.

Glad to see I didn't get a "who cares" from you 2. 👍

From my experiences with all the different travian games I have to say, that it is rather difficlut and useless to help members, who aren't at least 2 times / day online ( in the game ).... If you are, it is NO problem to help you... if you are not, it is impossible....

True - sending hundreds of resources to people who don't take the time to use or protect it is like watching it burn up right in front of you.

But people who will take advantage of the assistance often will pay you back with interest.

Hell, I'll glady give people resources who need them as I generate alot per hour.

Rick, feel free to send me resources when ever.

And you really need to just wipe that guy off the face of the planet Famine, he sounds annoying...

I'd love to but I can't store up enough resources to build up enough troops quickly enough - he's attacking around twice a day. I'm not sending horsemen into axefighters again either.

I've redistributed my stuff amongst my alliance (hopefully I'll get it all back) and my troops are out and safe. If I don't retaliate this time, he might lose interest (getting sod all again), which will give me time to build up before his next scheduled attack.

Or I'll take out his team-mate who is rather closer and weaker...

Edit: 400 clubswinger, 54 axefighters, got sod all. I'm shocked. No, really.

Out of interest, does anyone know how the battle simulator actually works? I tried playing around with my own calculations (based on Travian's own numbers) and I'm buggered if I can work it out.

Well, I seem to developing at a good pace. Whenever I get the setup going for it, I'll start working my way over there xD

In the meantime, kill the team mate. Always is a blow to watch an ally get wiped out :)

surely its based on the attack/defence properties that a unit has.

maybe a 100 attack calvary can kill 20, 5 defence troops before he is killed?

The combat sim is off because it doesn't consider the level of your troops, the level of the defenders, the defensive bonus given by population, walls, palace/residence. The expanded sim in the Plus version considers these, yet I still expect find it less than 100% accurate, but it's probably more accurate than a sim that fails to account for these factors.

Indeed - but I'm wondering how it works at all, given the numbers in the FAQ.

Say you have 200 phalanges - that's 3,000 attacking points, 8,000 defensive points and 10,000 defensive points against horses.

They attack 200 clubswingers - that's 8,000 attacking points, 4,000 defensive points and 1,000 defensive points against horse.

So the phalanges attack is 3,000 points and the clubswinger defence is 4,000 points. The phalanges should inflict no casualties whatsoever on the clubswingers. The clubswinger attack is 8,000 points and the phalanges defence is 8,000 points, so the clubswingers should inflict no casualties whatsoever on the phalanges.

The combat simulator says that the phalanges lose 122 men, the clubswingers lose 78. Where the smeg did those numbers suddenly come from?

Oh - and guess who's decided it's time to attack again?

He's now attacked FIVE TIMES in two days, getting nothing, losing 7,000 resources and 36 troops. What a tosspot.

Solve it Famine. Break the code.

And tosspot? Must be a british thing :p

BTW, poke yer head in the "next ice age" thread or whatever the hell its called. Enlighten some people :D

BTW, what do I have to do to get the next step up in troops from Phalanx? Which would be Swordfighter...
