I did a rapid search, no results of this even though I'm pretty sure someone have posted it before. I'm too tired to care about that right now. My English isn't my first language so don't shoot me for some grammatical errors.

Well, I just finished this race with my x2010 now and got the following information to tell you guys if you ever want to take the easy way like me. First I got to say that this race WILL get boring with ANY car you choose to enter with. I chose the X2010 to avoid most boredomness ( I don't even know if that's a word)

My setup:

Car: Gran Turismo Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel (70.000 km mileage, but with body restore and overhauled engine.)
Racing Soft (tires got useless when I had 10 more units of fuel left)
SRF: On
TCS: 1
ASM: Off
ABS: 1
Untouched tuning.

My stats:

Lap times: 30-40 seconds
Best lap time: 30.807 (Yes, it's easy to get under 30 seconds, but not with blocking opponents, a DS3 and poor oil.)
Laps between pitting: 40-45
Pit time: 60 seconds +-
Laps/hour: approximately 100
My selected Schedule: driving 1h 30m, parking 3h 30min, driving 3h 45min, after I catched up I parked for 15min. This schedule is not specially recommended, after the 3 and a half hour stop I was 164 laps behind, and I freaked out because I wasn't sure if I was going to make it or not.
Total laps: 547

AI stats:

Best opponent: S2000 (silver metallic paint, don't remember the name. FYI; the 2nd, 3rd and 4th cars were S2000's)
Lap time: 56-68 seconds
Laps between pitting: (unknown) assume it's 50-70 laps.
Pit time: (unknown) 90% sure it’s the same as mine.
Total laps: 542

Important Notes:

-Parking time is when you park your car on the side of the track without pausing. The time will go and you have to get back in time to be acceptable amount of laps behind or still maintain a decent lead. But remember that you have to cross the finish line after 9 hours in order to complete the race.
-Doing a good clean lap is difficult, because of blocking AI's. Only 5 of these 547 laps I drove without meeting any other car.
-You may want to spread the race over 2 or more days(as I did). Trust me, not only will you get tired and bored, but you may also start to get mood swings by driving almost 600 laps on a stupid track without stop.
-The leading opponent may manage more than 542 laps, I drove dirty and bumped him out of track 100-200 times. As often this isn't worth it, 1/3 of the times your car will spin out too, causing you to lose 5 seconds.
-When you are in the lead and want to park for the rest of the race, make sure you got more laps lead than it's minutes left. At the end your opponents will do laps over 1 minute, but it's always good to be on the safe side and check a couple of times before finish.
-Parking too early may not be a good idea, it's very sad to discover after 8 hours that you are not going to make it.

I hope these words will help you, feel free to bookmark the page if you think this may be in your interest later if you are not planning of doing the race anytime soon.

Thanks
Jorsne

Some good info there. The car is actually S2000, not S200.

Also, I've got to say that you have fantastic grammar for a foreign person.👍

Thanks for the info. Your English is fine. I've seen worse by individuals whose first language IS English.

Lol 164 laps down lol.

Thanks, but I think the "4hr 'Ring" is the last Endurance race I'm doing for A Spec until PD adds the save function for Endurance Races. :)

Yep, sorry. I was just very tired :) Didn't notice what I wrote

There is actually no point in using the X2010 in this race, its a timed race and not a how many laps type of race. The ACR has a 4 lap advantage over the 2nd place car (s2000).

I used a Viper ACR @ 1262kg:
Full weight reduction
Racing Air Filter
Cat Converter
Twin Clutch
Semi Fly Wheel
Carbon Drive shaft
Racing Medium Front
Racing Hard Rear

Sorry mate, but my brain isn't made out of stone.
How many hours did you sit with your DS3 or steering wheel? 9 hours I guess.
Well with a X2010 you only have to drive for around 5 hours before you park your car without pausing. Then you can leave your house or catch a movie before coming back 4 hours later driving the last lap while still having a solid lead and still win the race just as much as you did.

At the top of my thread I mentioned that this was the easy to complete the race.

This particular endurance is next up for me should I decide I want to subject myself to the tedium of it. I would certainly use the RedBull for it, I was wondering if anyone has found any tricks where you can wedge it in the Pit Lane exit and block any of the AI cars getting out.

Not in the spirit of it I know but anything to reduce spending the equivalent of a long working day doing this.

Thanks for this writeup. I plan on doing this one this weekend. I was planning on grinding 6 hours... It's good to know I only have to grind 5.25ish.

They might just bump you out of the way, I mean if too many of them try to exit they might bump each other and then your car?

Its a great idea lol.. would be interesting to actually know what happens.. especially with the new update adding improved AI collision avoidance or something.

I shared it out with my brother, I did the first 2, he did the next 2, then I did 1, he did 1 etc.
I did 2 hours because I thought I could do it all Solo, I was falling asleep at the wheel, at 1 PM!
I used the FGT, I was going to make it a competitive race by using the Acura NSX RM, but I couldn't bare the thought of losing a 9 hour race.

Is it possible to slow down the AI by parking in a certain place on the track so that they will have to move out of their racing line to get past you?

Or even better, is it possible to block the track completely so they won't get past you?

You mean like in the Nurb 4 hours?
It's a shame that we can do it there but not at Suzuka.
Nurb Nord is such a great track to drive on.

Yeah, I simply do not have the time and effort to complete an endurance race which is more than 2 hours.

Let your family/friends help out?

I don't know anyone around me who plays GT5 or likes cars a lot so the only choice for me is doing it myself.

But this is turning into a chore, I'm not sure if there's anyone who likes to go round Tsukuba for 600 laps.

I enjoyed doing the Roadster 4 hour solo.
The only race I didn't do solo was the 9 hour.

The roadster 4 hour one wasn't too bad because I was drifting for some of it so that cancelled out some of the boredom.

But 9 hours is too much, especially for a short track like Tsukuba.

9 hours on Nurb would be brilliant!
It's a shame that the had to use Nord and the F1 track, the F1 track just has no flow.

I know this thread is old but yesterday I decided to finally tackle this race only to have crossed the line in first and the game only partially registering that it was finished. Autopilot kicked in and the lap counter quit counting but my car just circled the track, as did the ai cars. Hoping the game was temporarily on spin cycle I left it like that til this morning only to see nothing had changed. Bummer to finally do the race and get nothing for it.

9 hrs Tsukuba? Wow I can´t imagine anything more boring in gaming... Even if you choose the Fiat500, you would win against that GT AI :/

It´s a big challenge to find an car to drive the exact lap times like the #1 AI...

I still did not touch any endurance race in any GT game... Waiting for ingame saving...

where can you do it in nurburgring?

Well, like mostly always when u learn a foreign language and do a certificate in any way, u often learn the language "cleaner" and better then the ones from the country itself!

Anyways, good hints and tips!!

I'm only doing the 9, and 24h enduros if and only if PD implements swapping Bob's with yourself for the ACTUAL way an Enduro is meant to be raced. If I let my family (wife) drive, I will not have the mental strength left to advise her to press the gas more every 10 meters. I have no friends. I'm now at A-40, and taking my game to simply enjoying tunes, offered from the masters in the tuning section, and trying out grandvalley with em. A-Spec is dead.

I don't get how choosing the fastest car in the game to do a fixed time race is less boring, not only is it just phenomenally dull to drive but you also get to do way more laps than what was expected. I'm going to use something I can drift with when I get bored, but I'm not going to choose something at a huge disadvantage to the AI either, I wouldn't want to risk losing after 9 hours because of falling asleep or being spun out by the AI. I'm going to try the Spoon S2000 Race car or maybe the Tom's X540 Chaser; I'd love to do it in an Evo but I don't think the CT230R will keep me entertained for the whole thing. I could drive that Spoon for days... Never thought I'd say that.

Its so you dont have to drive 9hrs, about 5.25 will see you do enough laps.

Ah, fair enough then, I assumed this thread would be info for people doing the whole race. I admit I stopped reading the OP after the line I quoted.

Lets see... 9 hours of competing and trying to win a race(while fast enough to ensure it's possible to gain ground easily if you should need to - perhaps by throwing on better tires towards the end if in trouble), or 5.25 hours of hotlapping by yourself in a silly car on a silly track with some other irritating slow traffic getting in the way all the time... which would be more boring?

Why did I start this event? Why didn't I follow the advice in the opening post and use an X2010? Why is this event in the game? Am I being punished for something?

These are the questions I have been asking myself for the last 3h 30m. I feel that I'm too far in to quit and the thought of racing this track for another 5h 30m is just soul crushing.

I thought I would bring a car that would make the race competitive, however I obviously hae too much car for this event and now it's just tedious. Sorry for the rant, just trying to vent some frustration.

I am using the Toyota ALTEZZA Touring Car stock except for tweaking the trans a little bit for the track. I can run 57 laps before pitting for tires and fuel. Both of which this car is very gentle on. In fact I probably could run 60 laps without any problems except for slower lap times. My average lap on fresh tires is 57.xx and when the tires get worn I'm usually around 59.xx - 101.xx.
