Tune Corvette to win S race ?

Im stuck on the 750 race in the 'S' league (dunno the techy name sorry). I tried with a Dunlop Nissan, a Viper and that Amuse thing. I'm now trying to do it with the tuned Corvette which is doing the best so far but needs acceleration over top speed but I haven't got a clue how to tune the gearbox, everything I do just loses top speed and has no effect on it's crap acceleration.
Any tips please.
 
Just about all of those top end tuned cars can win the race. You just need practice and maybe a bit of luck with the grid positioning (i.e. if the GT spec IIs, the Amuses and the Corvettes get stuck behind 2 Blitzs, then you're laughing all the way to victory, they're a real rabbit killer).
 
You don't really need to tune the car too much to win, just focus on downforce, put a considerable amount ( sacrifice power ) to maintain a good balance and allow good straight line final speeds to outbrake the AI. I won the race many times without any tunning too, but it takes practice and luck to get a good lineup.

I have won it with the 111r and the clio tuned!!!!!
 
Every car that can be tuned to 750PP with R1 tires can win this race (at least in std physics). Several cars that won't reach 750PP can also win it, some quite easily. The Ferrari C and the Clio T are both VERY fast even though they won't reach the 750PP level with R1 tires.
