Did the August update fix the engine sound for the Tuned Z06 and Tuned GT? I sold both almost immediately (pre-Aug update) because someone stole their throaty V8s and gave the M3 engines...Someone drop me a line on whether this huge oversight of realism was fixed?

You went and sold 2 of the best cars in the game because of engine sounds? Hate to see what you'd do when electric cars start whispering their way into new car lots.

Find the recent episode of Motorweek (Speed/PBS) where they tested the new ZR1. You'll be surprised in how that car doesn't sound and it is being touted as the best Corvette in history.

Well, I know the ZR1 has a different exhaust note from the Z06 for several reasons...but that's not what we're talking about. Either way, I'm sure it still sounds like a V8. However, the Tuned Z06 and GT06 don't. Coming from the game that prides itself on realism and usually works to do so through thorough car analysis, why on earth do they feel the need to change the sound of those car's engines from stock. Maybe make them louder to represent obvious race tuning, sound deadening removal, etc. But why make them sound like sissys???

F1 cars don't sound much like V8's either ;) (at all)

Sure, I'd like all V8's to sound like NHRA, NASCAR Sprint Cup, and V8 Supercars, but they don't.

True...however, a C6.R sounds like an uncatted, long-tubed, race-exhausted, V8. You honestly think a Z06 or GT would sound like an inline-6 when you add racing bits to it?

...and since when is a Ford GT, or Z06 for that matter, NOT a V8 supercar?

Our opinion may differ, but I'm really just curious if it's changed.

100+ Views and no one can even say yes or no?

Davethestalker, if these cars are so great, you must drive them often enough to know if their sound drastically changed post august update...that's all I want. Friends help me out.

Oversight error on my part, but a huge oversight on yours. If you can't provide a yes or no, why are you posting here?

I was still answering another question you posted or that case a correction
Plus If you are talking about tuned engine sounds, the evo sounds are spot on,there you go an answered your question on that "tuned car engine sounds???".

Have you ever heard a Gran Turismo Tuned Evo in reality? No, because it doesn't exist, but your obvious experience and/or hard on for evos makes you an expert on their exhaust. I have taken a similar conclusion for the comparability of a C6.R exhaust to a race-prepped/Gran Turismo Tuned Corvette.

Does anyone have an answer?

Yes i've never had any experience at all with a tuned evo in fact ive never even seen an evo in my life before.

In fact ill just post this video to show how loud a tuned evo really is because alot of people claim that the evo's are "unrealisticly loud". In this video at around 20 seconds and 1:23 an evo which ive never seen before or have had experience of in my life appears to be louder than anything else there.

But again if you have no experience of a C6R how can you even begin to compare it to a Tuned Z06

1) I will not watch this video.

2) Let's review...

How can my intuition about the sound of a race-prepped Z06 be under such scrutiny when such nonesense is coming out of your fingers?

Does anyone have an answer?

Yes, as far as I know, the August update did change the sound of some of the engines on some cars, I can't remember if the GTLM or Z06 Tuned sound different or not.
Whats going on with the forum today? I can't believe its taken this many posts for someone to actually answer you question.

Did you happen to think about it, that the factory exhausts are tuned for sound and emissions? they must not exceed certain noise level, while keeping the emissions at bay. racecars don't have these limitations, and with straight pipes, they will sound very different from the factory ones. But, provide a videoclip of bot racecar versions from real life, and then in the game, and then moan about it..

I suppose many of the people posting here don't necessarily have to know anything about cars to like this game, which seems to be the case. At any rate, the knowledge of realistic car exhaust notes is only slightly related to the answer of the question.

actually, it is QUITE related.. no smoke without fire, comprende? in addition, this could be the case: PD wanted to model the tuned cars after certain regulations of some race class. that could mean that there's restrictors either in the intake- or exhaust system, which WILL change the engine note. And before you claim that these forum members have no knowledge about cars, check their profiles.. for example, I'm a mechanic.. thus, I know what i talk about most of the time.

No smoke without fire...hmm. Anyways, the point remains that even though this debacle about realism spurred from my opinion on how these two cars should sound, the answer to the original question and meaning for this post has yet to materialize from any post.

As far as GTP member's car smarts...I said many people here don't have car knowledge, which is still probably the case.

The inside car view has the closest sound to reality. Adjusting the trebble and bass and using high quality audio systems affects the quality of sound also. My humble opinion.

I think this is the first time I've ever done this...

This is what the Tuned Vette should sound like. No, the V8's in GT5P still don't sound "perfect", but they sound better than they used to. Since the last update, most of the engines sound like they have more umph.

I do understand than an F1 V8 runs at 19,000 rpm. But, traditionally, when I think V8, it's NOT the sound of an F1 V8. It's the roar of muscle and torque.

Wow, this thread is just..................scary:scared:

mu22stang: if the tuned vette in gt5p is ANYTHING like a C6R which I've heard blasting by me from about 25 yards IRL.

Then............drum roll please........it's

NOT EVEN CLOSE!!

but the thing is thgat we don't know what has been done to the cars in the game, so they might really have stock exhaust systems.
