Hello. I am new to sim racing and gtplanet. I'd like to ask if after modification or purchase and installation of tuning parts i can revert back to the original set up or cancel the installed parts? How is it done?

Yes and no. Majority of parts such as exhaust systems and turbochargers you can take off the vehicle by going into your garage, selecting "tuning" and then checking off stock part vs the tuner part. That being said there are several modifications that cannot be reversed (i.e. weight reduction, engine tuning and chassis reinforcement)

No you cannot sell the parts for money & yes you can sell your old cars however you get next to nothing for them and some cars you will need for races later on.

I am now in the intermediate level. How can I get the most out of the game without joining online? I know I need to spend time with the game discovering it along the way but if somebody can just give me an idea about it. Thanks guys.

Getting online IS the best way to acclimate yourself to the game, however if you can't just progress through the game & grind some races. make sure you regularly check the UCD every 3-4 races to make sure you don't miss a car you really want.

I didnt go online but a few times early in the game... i spent my time in the beginning like I did back in GT1 and each other version of GT... I got as far through the licenses as I felt like before I got bored (I think it was I-B where I stopped in day 1 with a mix of gold silver and bronze complete and some I-A....) then I started moving through the A-Spec levels...

BUT The great thing about GT is its YOUR choice to get what YOU want out of the game... I am 95% complete with the offline game, own 830+ cars, have all silvers at least in all licenses I-B and less (with several golds in there) completed most Events, finished every seasonal event (except drift trials, not my thing... I have done a few, and for me they make a fun break)... B-Spec I have all races done and A-Spec I have half endurance races (you get those unlocked later in the game) and I am a level 34 A-Spec and I think 28-30 (its been a while) in B-Spec.

Basically sometimes I set goals that I want to all gold licenses... I will do that til bored... my new kick is all cars.... next, who knows... some do all paints, all gear, all tickets, 0/0/0 cars... and still others want #1 Time Trial in seasonal... Its whatever you make it to be...

** I have played GT over 10 years now starting with GT1 on the PS1 all the way through including GT5 Prologue and now GT5... at least 95% complete on all (working on that some now on GT5)

Good point... the Used Dealer cycles 6 new cars every time you start a race (even if you dont finish and excluding restarts (within the pause screen) within a race you are in already) so after 3-4 races the cars that were at the top are now on the bottom and about to disappear... Also if you exit the race and restart from the main screen that cycles the dealership too...

Can anyone confirm whether or not switching between tuning sheets allows you to remove things like engine upgrade/weight reduction/etc.?

I just started the game last night, bought a used mazda and raced for more than 30 races until I got enough credit to buy a good car. I thought that was how it is played. I realized now that its a waste of time. Any techniques how to go with it? Race buy upgrade? What about the other rces in the beginners class?

Yes and no... full setting changes that you can add and remove... So no, you cant do weight reduction engine tuning etc... BUT you can set different ballast and power limiter settings to balance that out

Nothing wrong with that way of playing... We each have our own ways that we play ourselves... what I do isnt always what you want to do...

I have always preferred 2-3 types of cars.... Skylines (R34/35), Supras and RX7s.... So I got those first and basically had a whole garage of like 5 cars til I started winning more and more in the A and B spec races and other prize cars... now I collect all cars, but still only drive 5-7 of the 840 I have at this time. They are just different (most of them anyhow) than the first 4-5 I always used. - I prefer race cars and my first ones

Each race has specifications as to what type of car you can race (FF FR MR etc.. or open class.)
