This is something that I've wondered about for a while... okay, say you're fairly early into the game. You've just gotten a decent car that you can use for a lot of races, but you're low on money and can't buy all the upgrades you want right away. As you're putting the car together one race at a time, what are do you work on first? Is horsepower your main concern, or do you concentrate on the drivetrain and suspension first? Or do you get good tires and shave off all the weight you can, and let the rest take care of itself?
Personally I prefer to work on the drivetrain and tires first, then comes suspension and weight reducing, and finish up with boosting the engine as appropriate. I've always felt it's easier to get a feel for a car when I leave the engine stock and work around it, plus making the engine too big too early can cause a lot of problems until the other parts to go with it are installed.
How about the rest of you? Got any particular philosophy on building the perfect beast?
