I wouldn't. You want to learn how hard you can push the car on the race tire. If you want to see how it handles as the grip reduces, just run a longer practice session IMO. The goal is to find your braking markers for each corner. Then just brake a little earlier as the tires go down.
but i suppose you could try it if you wanted to see what the low grip feels like without waiting on 10 laps.
For me, i just figure out how hard i can push on the early laps under good grip, then i figure out how to adjust my braking or gear shift point as the tires go away. So i run a full session in practice up to the pit stop point keeping those two thoughts in mind.
This is a 17 lap race, so i imagine we'll be able to do 9 laps on the RH's. You can also see how much your lap times increase as you get close to the pit delta. If you're losing more than a couple seconds, it might benefit you to pit an extra time depending on how long the pit stop takes at the track you're at. You just have to figure it out. Run a 9 lap practice race and save the replay so you can see your lap times and then figure out how long it takes to pit (total lap time lost on the in and out laps).
