What kind of maintenance should be done on an F1. I know they need the oil changed more often. But, what about engine and chassis rebuilds?

Not sure I only have 1700 miles on mine so I cant imagine it needs all that rebuilding yet.
How many miles do you have on yours?

I'm getting close 1000 miles, but it seems like I read somewhere that they may start needing maintenance at about 1500 miles. That's why I was asking.

Race Recap

Congratulations to Oshawa-Joe for his 100 point win! He got the Pole and never looked back with 2 fast and clean races. Great racing Oshawa-Joe! The race for the overall standings was quite competitive with 3 drivers (FordRacing99, Psycho-Tuber, and RacingOtaku86) ending up with 81 points. After the "Tie Breaker" they were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place respectively. mbobb1969 came roaring back from his 10th Place finish in Race 1 all the way up to 2nd Place in Race 2 for 5th Place overall. Great come back mbobb1969! FFK13 ran two solid races, finishing in 7th Place in Race 1 and in 6th Place in Race 2 for 6th Place overall. Maxime0911 was blazing fast but had some trouble here and there, finishing in 5th Place in Race 1 and in 11th Place in Race 2 for 7th Place overall. Friend-29 had two 8th Place finishes for 8th Place overall. johnsom did the same thing for 9th Place overall with two 9th Place finishes. shred-tec finished in 11th Place in Race 1, but found his stride in Race 2 with a 7th Place finish for 10th Place overall. Nice improvement shred-tec! TX_Exectioner had a good finish in Race 1 but got stuck on the line in Race 2 with technical difficulties and ended up in 11th Place overall. GTP_tzracer joined us for Race 2 and finished in 10th Place for 12th Place overall. Great Racing Turtlers!

I go to the engine rebuild page and see how much power will be gained by a rebuild (after oil change). You will have to determine how much power loss you can tolerate before spending the credits.

As far as the chassis, I have not seen anything conclusive about when or what a chassis rebuild really does. Some have claimed to go 10,000 miles (FGT) before doing a chassis rebuild.

Hey I would like to join. My psn is ATT_TIGER.

Great, thank you for joining the Turtle Racing League - FORMULA 1 Racing Series. All you need to now is refer to the Drivers List and choose an unused helmet color and then accept the PSN Turtle FRs we send you. Then you should be good to go. Welcome to the Turtle Racing League!

I have just over 1800 miles on my F10. I did a engine rebuild, not much better than a well nedded oil change.

The next race is on February 21st at Nurburgring GP/F.

Thanks that gives me a good week to rack up about 15 million to get an f1 Ferrari car but which one is the best out of the both. Sorry about so many questions it shows my lack of inexperience with regular track racing.

We will be using both Ferrari F1's. Trade for some level 24 tickets. 2 of the 3 cars on the ticket are in the series. 👍

My rule of thumb with engine rebuilds is around the 2xxx mark if you are trying to stay all the way competitive (trying to hit first place all the time) for people who are more on the poor side i would say old off till the 3-4K mark.

As for chassis rebuild its different. What the chassis does is pretty much straighten everything out. After many hard races the chassis will become warped and will start mess with the handling of the car along with tire wear.

As for when to do it depends on how you drive the car and how many times you put it into the wall. In my opinion around the 3-5K mark if you are into the wall alot. if you keep the car in the track most of the time you can probably stretch it out to the 10K mark.

This what i found on the Gran Turismo Wiki.

"Over time, a car's chassis can become slightly warped due to all the flexing it has to do during cornering. This makes the chassis straight once more, and stiffens it back up to new condition so that the car handles better. It is recommended that the player perform this along with Overhaul Engine if the car has done a lot of hard racing between being serviced, or after being purchased. "

Pretty much I recommended for this league to to a engine overhaul and Chassis Restore at the 2-3K and at the 5K mark respectfully.

Also for those who are wondering the cost of the engine rebuild and chassis rebuild is around the 1/3 the cost of the car for each until it reaches a max of 250K for the engine and 500K for the chassis.

You have to go to the trading thread or find someone in the league that has a 24 ticket, then ask if they would like to trade something for it. You must be friends with said person and they can gift it to you on the PSN. You can trade level tickets, cars and paint chips, also racing suits, helmets all kinds of stuff.
