I've made this short video, đź‘Ť:)



So, what do people think about this new track?

Do you think we will get all 4 variants, East Course, West Course, the Speedway and the full circuit like past GT games?

Please don't turn this into, "Oh, this track sucks, I wanted this other track"
 
Nice video liked, i think this track will be epic! But the dlc will be like $5 for one track but anyway i'd say its worth it
 
What is there to discuss exactly? We know it's going to be in the Academy, that's about it.

Your video is also misleading in that sense, since there is no confirmation it will come to GT5 unless I've missed something.

I'm not counting that fact out, but why would they spend all that time modelling a track and not put it in the game? :dunce:
 
Interesting I would love to have more tracks to play on and this is a special one. I hope to see it soon but on GT5.
 
I can't wait to get on this track, so many transitions on this coarse, and so many variations of it as well.

In what way is it misleading? I'm pretty sure they have confirmed it will be in GT5, as you can see the 2012 GTR in the picture clearly says, GT Academy in it..
Also, whats to discuss? The track. Just like the OP has mentioned.

It will be in GT Academy, it's not confirmed in GT5.
 
I would think there would be no way we wouldn't get all the variations with the exception of maybe not getting the oval. Buuuuut Suzuka surprised me with the lack of the West variation so who knows.

So, in other words, you're wanting to know what we think of this track if we like it, and if we don't then you don't want to know what we think. That's pretty much how these boards deal with things in general, really. We want to discuss GT5, but only if the comments range from neutral (Which car should I pick?) to glowing praise. If it's even slightly negative, we don't want to hear it and will attack you for saying it because you're shattering our delusions.

I'm sorry, but you asked what we think of this track, and it isn't positive. It's new to you, but it isn't new to me. I've raced on it for years in Forza, and it does suck... out loud. No, it won't be more amazing in GT5 because it's still the same track and suffers from the same issue - mediocrity. Driving around it feels like just straights and ninety-degree elbows... and that's it. It has absolutely no soul or flavor, unless you consider "cardboard" flavor.

Seriously, GT5 wasn't missing anything by not having Twin Ring Motegi in the past, and it hasn't really gained much from its addition. They might just as well have added a Walmart parking lot to drive around in.

Not satisfied with the brutal truth and instead want something positive to say about it? Well..., it's another track... and has a few variants, so I suppose technically it's better than nothing. Hey, at least it isn't an oval. Well, hold on; it does include an oval. Let me rephrase that: At least it isn't just an oval.

Why...? Its not like that one track is something worth saving. People aren't going to be insanely excited for GT6 just because TWM is in it.

I agree but my point still stands, whilst it seems likely we have no confirmation it's going to be in GT5. Also you have to remember, PD doesn't generally work in a way that appears like common sense to us.
 
GT4 was a good looking game in its day, now it looks ****...

As for the track, if it does come as DLC, I will be buying it. First dlc I will have bought, as so far, they have been pretty poor imo...
 
I too think you are getting ahead of yourself. Although it does seem likely, nothing has been cofirmed yet. And, the title to the video IS misleading. Lets not jump the gun here because if it don't happen, you going to have a bunch of pissed off, whinning people because they are going to read your post and take it as fact.

Did you miss Spa? That's the only DLC I have bought because it's such a brilliant, iconic well loved track. Motegi, is not. I didn't buy it when they added it as DLC for Forza 2, I won't be buying it as DLC for GT5, if it is released.
 
Let's just wait and see, if some more information that proves that my educated guess is wrong, I will take the video down, I've changed the title to keep you happy atleast.
 
I was introduced to this track thanks to the CART World Series, but then GT4 came out and let me try it out for myself.

And then I traded my PS2 in for my PS3... live and learn.
 
I don't live in Europe so unfortunately don't get to try GT Academy this year, does any else know if rounds 3 and 4 are comencing tomorrow?

That's the biggest hogwash I've read all day. So you're saying they'd model it to work in GT academy (which must have basically the same engine as GT5) and then not bother to hit Ctrl+C and move it to GT5 but rather model it all over again for a game coming out in more than a year's time.

+1 đź‘Ť, There will certainly be better graphics in GT6, as in more polished.

I tend to agree with you but we're in the realms of PD here. Nothing would surprise me.

As for Motegi itself. I like it a lot. The East variation is by far my most favourite and one of my go to tracks in a game that rhymes with Snorza.
 
It's a decent track and I'll buy it when it comes. Naturally I would have rather had Silverstone or Road America but a decent track is a decent track.
 
Sadly I don't really remember this track, I think all I remember driving a gather driders civic around it, so no nostalgia in it for me :(
 
I'd love to see it return to GT5 in all it's incarnations... I loved this track in GT4, I have very fond memories of racing my Civic around it :)
