Iam just wondering what kind of tires are out there i was playing GT4 and watgcing the le mans a coupld months ago and they said something about intermidate tires. So what are the tires really named besides R5.
Intermediates refer to tyres that are for slightly wet conditions (ie. sprinkling rain or drying from shower) rather than the compounds which are done for GT4.
Intermediates are normally pretty soft so they can build up and hold heat better which is harder to do in wet conditions and the tyres have heaps more cuts through the tyres to channel the water out quickly but the downside is when the track is dry, it heats the tyres up more and causes the tread blocks to come off faster than normal and the tyres die off within a couple of laps of a dry line appearing.
