In longer races like the endurance ones can you make your tyres and fuel last a few more laps by controlling your speed say 2secs a lap slower like you can in real life? changing gear earlier and being smoother?

I think the tyres seem to last longer if you dont push em hard enough to make them go red on the indicator, but I wonder if the fuel is done by some kind of distance calculator or if it is affected to.

Tires last longer if you don't push them too hard. Avoid getting them red and you'll save some laps.

I'm not sure about the fuel economy.

If your doing 7000rpm instead of 4000rpm then yes you are using more fuel, in real life AND in GT5.

cool I might try controlling the races in the enudrance events to see if it works out quicker with less pit stops as they take forever!

A thread that I posted two days ago! :P https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=178542

That talks about fuel saving, saving time in pit stops etc. By going slower to save fuel you will take longer to finish the race which doesn't matter in a time limited event, but in a lap limited event the best thing you can do to save time is read the bit about taking on 12-14 litres of fuel at a pit stop, that will help you out hopefully.
