According to previous interviews with kaz yes...the question is, are they photo mode worthy:)

Yes, with all the other fantastic new cars, the "Standards" might just get shoved aside, lol.

But on-topic, yeah I majorly disliked the UCD in GT5, and having Used cars available in a Dealership with the new cars is fine by me, but I still think that the "Rare" (meaning Special/Unique) cars should stay rare, maybe like Prize Cars or just priced very highly like the 20mill cars in GT5 so that not every car is available without enough credits or whatever.

Maybe the new star system is the same as the old level system, and that some cars cannot be purchased without a minimum license or number of stars.

I liked the UCD. Going to a dealer to buy a '67 model feels wrong. Maybe it should have an in-game 'eBay'?

I always tried to rack up miles on the older vehicles to make it seem more believable I guess is the word. I'm crazy OCD though. I don't like to stop driving the cars on an odd number mileage though so don't listen to me lol

Wait is it DEFINITELY gone? or is this just a rumor? cuz the ucd was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying having to wait 1000 days for the next chaparal 2D was SO UPSETTING!!

I loved the UCD in GT4, it was perfect for a good start and also for buying rare cars that couldn't be obtained in Dealership... Well, I hope UCD well make it in game.

Well so much for the "High Mileage" Ford Taurus SHO I wanted to start with.

I think the same way.

The removal of the UCD is bad imho, it's like removing a very important part of the game. Since the very first GT we had the ritual of starting the career with an used car. I think only 3 skipped this feature and well, it was a bit boring because of that.

But I agree that you should be able to buy any car on the dealer, for an extra fee... being the used ones just worn, damaged and cheaper. This way, the frustration is removed.

The UCD only made sense in connection with GT Life. With the inclusion of online racing, it was just annoying as hell that you couldn't use the car of your choice for a certain purpose when you needed it.

I think it's a good thing it's gone.

agreed.
being a collectionist is extremely hard with just a random chance to get the car you were waiting for litterally years.
same thing is tho with the fact that you can have any car at any time. making "rare" cars become prize cars for really hard races (Historic Racing Car Cup any1? :D) or at extremely high price would balance the heck out everything without completely removing the possibility of having every car in the game.

(damn chaparral :D)

I hope that's not the case. If I have the money to purchase a car I should be able to. I shouldn't have to go and collect 'stars' or acquire a license to purchase it. Stuff like that is annoying an only serves to artificially lengthen the game. In the real world you can legally buy a car even without having a drivers license.

Well that's how it was before GT5. You needed to have a set license before you could buy a certain class of car. People wanted that back in GT5, but instead there was a stupid level system. I think the best way to balance the buying of cars would be to outprice the super/sports/race cars to a certain level so that they become available at a point in the game where you are considered "ready" as it were. Without actually having a requirement, other than the Cr value for said car, but making them priced to reflect a person's advancement in the game, necessitating play really, online or off.

Yep. It looks like it's gone for good, as you can see there being all of the manufacturers in one place now.

Note: This is actually a selected list of Europe's dealerships.

Hmm... I wonder how car trading will work - I haven't heard anything about this. It would suck if the same one million CR limit was in place like in GT5. They need to make sure any cheats/exploits are plugged, then allow trading of all car models, not just the cheap ones. Better yet, incorporate online car trading into the Dealerships page.

I kinda liked the GT2 setup... would be cool in GT6 to get the car you want that had a few miles on and was maybe a bit dirty and had a small bit of damage maybe for a discount price... but otherwise I'm kinda glad its gone, spent god knows how many weeks waiting for a Legacy Estate in GT5...

Maybe the UCD is integrated in the regular dealership. As long as there aren't more clear screenshots of all dealer menus there's no way to know if it really got nerfed or not...

True, that's what I've been thinking as well.

While GT5's UCD was terrible because it made 80% of the cars in the game near impossible to buy, I don't think they should have done away with used cars entirely. Why not return to the system from the earlier games, where each manufacturer has a used lot, in addition to new and classic lots? I like the idea of being able to buy old cars for cheap, and it would also be very strange to walk into a Nissan dealership and see and S13 Silvia right next to a 370Z. It doesn't feel right, as somebody said above me.

No, you could buy any car you wanted so long as you had the cash. Licenses only dealt with entering races.

Just knowing that the UCD is absent really gets my hopes up(not too much) on how the standard cars will look like in GT6. I think PD might do the same thing like they did in GT4 where you can purchase new cars or classic cars on each manufacturer you select.

Personally, I would be very disappointed if used cars were not part of GT6. I always enjoyed browsing through the used car dealerships and picking up a bargain or something rare. It was one of the main things I loved about the very first GT games on the PS1 and always felt that GT3 was slightly less fun with only 'new' cars.

Also, a little off topic, I think it was GT1 where you could sell a car back to a specific dealership and it was always worth more money if you sold it to the correct manufacturer - I loved that (things were simple back then!)

I understand the argument for those who want all the cars available straight away but I would prefer used cars being incorporated into the individual dealerships like they were in the original GT games - just my preference :nervous:

How can I distinguish between the cars? "Premium" (=real cockpit) or "Standard" (=same internal cockpit view) cars?

Example: If you want to buy (or drive) a car, how do I know which is which?

sry my bad english.

The Car Dealership/ Used Car Dealership concept of GT2 was by far the best ever in the series... Would be nice if they do something similar... but we are talking about PD here... so it's completely imposible for them to pick something that already works and use it again...

:yuck:

This is why I have been trying to say. Its the most realistic and made the game fun as heck.

I agree 100% with you.

Since when is having all cars in the NCD proof enough for not having a UCD?

Not as if you couldn't have both.

Or did I miss something? Any real guarantee that it won't be in the game?

Actually I wouldn't mind, if there was a UCD. If I can buy all the cars in pristine condition in the NCD at full price, that is.
