UCD

To keep rare cars, rare, what about a TDU style system (but a bit better)? Like, where the rarer, classic cars aren't always in stock at the dealerships, so you have to wait a while for them to come in. Although I can imagine this would get a bit annoying if you're sitting on 20mil and have to just wait...

The critics of the UCD mainly use GT5 as a reference which i totally understand as the UCD system there truly sucked. But let's not forgot the past where GT had those manufacturer dealerships; if for example you wanted to start your career with an old honda civic it was just a matter of going to the honda dealership and picking a cheap one with a bit of mileage.

Who at the PD board decided it was a good idea to screw up that formula, and go for the new lottery system deserves to be sent on a holiday.

It seemed like its primary goal was to keep standards apart from premiums. I have no idea how long it took to create the algorithm for car rotation, but the whole idea felt like a short cut so that they'd not need to edit each dealership.

Or I'm giving too much credit and it was just a poor idea, poorly executed with an attempted patch called the OCD.

Will the used car dealership in GT6 have a complete full list of cars or we have to wait again for the car we want?

Quoting what it says on the Gran Turismo 6 site :
All available cars are displayed under their respective manufacturers. There are no longer distinctions made between Premium and Standard cars as in the previous version of GT, but Standard equivalent cars will only have simplified cockpit views.

^ Can't wait to see those simplified cockpit views. Hope it won't be no black peephole again because that was a bit ridiculous...

The problem is the used car cutoff point. When the game comes out, any car from say, 2008 should be in UCD. I can give a pass to vintage and historic cars with Okms. It was silly to have '89 MX5, '94 GT-R, '88 Supra in the NCD. PD dropped the ball there. Now with all cars being of the same quality, there should be a more consistant what is deemed as new and used. Wont be that way but, it should.

Tons of people (not all) here act as if they know much more than everyone else, but not a single one of them can tell me why there won't be a UCD in GT6?

I know I asked this before, but I find it hilarious that nobody can answer my question.
What am I missing? Where does it say that there won't be a UCD? I don't see it!

Please help.

I was kind of hoping for another UCD.

I do not want the same system as GT5 though. Some people have made it sound as if there was a UCD in GT6 it would be the same as GT5. I would want most of the cars in the NCD to be put into the UCD, therefore I could buy the same thing for a cheaper price because it is already broken in for me(unless it has to many miles). :)

If they want to put a UCD in the game, they should give more discounts to the used cars.

Or add visible damage to the cars so players could buy them, fix them up and sell them again for extra cash just like in Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed.

That moment when you unintentionally put Wheeler Dealers into a racing game

Love that show. And knowing that Ayrton Senna will be in the game, there's a lunar rover in the car list, and PD has been hard at work modeling constellations, I wouldn't at all be surprised if Edd China was featured in GT Auto

We have not seen the menu in between "dealerships" and "European dealership" So there could be a UCD hiding in there

I really, really hope that by "simplified cockpits" they mean like the standard convertibles. tank car, for example. Isn't very pretty but it's there.

it will probably just be black silhouettes again, i cant imagine PD going through all the standards and modeling in cockpits for all of them.

or a small selection generic looking wheels for every standard and a 2D picture of a dash, like on the GT4 "premiums" like the R8. Actually a basic cockpit update would be reasonable, spend 3-5 hours per car with an intern on a junky looking interior? But Kaz would never approve since he is a perfectionist...

what? which car had that?

"We have not seen the menu in between "dealerships" and "European dealership" So there could be a UCD hiding in there"

i did not notice that ^

aight thanks, had no idea.

There are select standards with a cockpit. i dont know which ones though, i use front bumper cam.

There might be a used section in every dealership, just like in older GT titles. That list could probably shift from time to time, pretty much like in GT PSP. That would be a good idea.

Would like that. Not only will it bring back a long missed aspect, but it'll narrow down things quite a lot. If you're searching for a certain car, you now know what Manufacterer to check.

Is there really no information on the UCD in GT6? I was hoping it had gone....

What's wrong with used cars? Cars with some mileage to a cheaper price? I don't understand that either.

Personally I hope we still get a UCD, with both "premiums" and "standards".

Edit: UCD kinda is a GT thing, so I hope it's still there..

There's nothing wrong with them per se.

But if that's the only way to get 80% of the cars in the game and we also have to wait ages to get certain cars at all, if you haven't forgotten to check the UCD at one of those game days that the car in question appeared, then yes, there's something wrong with it.

Especially online play requires cars being available when you need them, otherwise those 800 cars are completely useless.

I wouldn't have anything against there being a UCD for discounted cars, I just wouldn't use it.

Keeping the UCD would actually be a good idea, so long as all the cars in the game were still available from the dealer as new. At least gives you the option of saving some dough on used cars as you slog your way through the early races with their infinitesimal payouts.

THE UCD was not random. It followed one of two predictable patterns. But it was a pain having to wait up to 1000 cycles to get the car you wanted. I am glad it is gone.

Yep and when that car has finally showed up, I forgot to save up and spent my money for some useless cars and end up quitting GT5 (true story).
Stupid GT5 UCD and stupid 20 million caps.

Sorry, but that's not my point.

This is my deal too. I enjoyed browsing the lots in GT4 as that offered a fairly good selection, though you still had to wait a small eternity for the thing to completely cycle for every car, something like 700 days! That's a bit long but still, I'm the guy who likes surprises so I'm hopeful it's still there in some form or fashion.

I'm also hopeful that the "un-Premium" interiors are suitable, because we might not hear the end of it.

Did anybody notice the "Stockyard" option in the garage screenshot? Perhaps this is the gateway to a UCD?

GT6-Menu-garage02.jpg

There was an explanation for the stockyard somewhere, but I think it's basically where you put cars you don't use, perhaps as a way for streamlining the amount of info you take online to help process things better and to keep your garage tidier.
