So anyway, I thought before the game we were going to get a hammering just because the Belgians were on a good run and I thought me fears were realised when Nainggolan scored that thunder-bastard of a goal and Belgium had a great start, but we recovered well and passed the ball around nicely immediately after the goal and then Williams scored a great header for which he was unmarked, What to say about Robson-Kanu, great ball in from Ramsey, unreal turn and superb finish by Kanu and then a great header by Vokes, we looked comfortable through most of it and Belgium were nowhere, we have a great team with a great coach, the best night in our Footballing history, Unbelievable....

Going forward, Portugal are beatable but we have Chester and Ramsey suspended....

Absolutely made up for the Welsh! What a team performance, fully deserved to win. The FA want to know what England are missing? Just ask the Welsh, they've got it in spades, passion, effort, pride, enjoyment, working for each other and their nation. I hope they go all the way and win it.

Spot on.

Ironically, Portugal have been nearly everything that Ronaldo criticised about Iceland - including participating in one of the worst games of football in living memory... I sincerely hope that Wales beat the living crap out of Portugal in the next round.

Huh, no. With exception of one game (against Croatia), we have attacked and shot way more than the opponents. After all, we finished the group stage as the team with most shots (or second team, don't remember exactly) in the whole tournament. So no, we haven't played like Iceland. Yes, we defended more against Croatia, but they didn't do much in the game either. Their ball possession was mainly in their side of the pitch, between the two center backs and Modric. The only moment in the game they risked, was what originated our goal.

Poland didn't do much either, scored the goal and waited for the game to end. Few attacks/counter-attacks here and there, some corners, etc, but at a certain point of the game we doubled their shots.
Should I go on?

Such a shame Ramsey will miss the Semi-Final... but if Wales play like that, Portugal are in trouble.

Iceland v Wales final??
I don't think I could take a team as passionate and hard-working as Wales falling to the sword in a penalty shoot-out. I can only hope Wales play the way they did tonight, and take their place in the final.

It would be simply incredible.

What a night for Welsh football! Gary Speed would be proud of what this group of players has achieved in this tournament and of course he was the one who started it all. The team ethic is all down to Speed and Chris Coleman has taken that onboard with him and taken the team to their first semi final of a major tournament ever.

Not to be the person who brings up the world champions, but Germany have yet to concede a goal in this competition, posting the joint best goal difference and best attack of any team yet to play a quarter final... They might face a tricky match with Italy next (who have a similar record, only with one goal conceded) but they are rather ominously just going about their business - as usual...

It's Germany so we just kind of expect those kind of stats.

Wales have scored the most goals in the competition.

And they have done that without even looking at their best. I do fancy Italy though. They seem to have a similar team spirit to Wales. Anything can happen from here.

..But Germany are scared of Italy, as they have a poor tournament record against them. Germany have been impressive so far, but if Italy play the way they did against Spain, I can only see the result going one way.

Before the tournament, I thought that Wales could maybe get to the sharp end of the tournament, but then concluded that my fantasy is idiotic. I look a bit of a numpty now.

I'd fancy Wales against Portugal to be honest, especially without William Carvalho, Bale could have a field day.

Also on the topic of Bale, I put a bet on him to be top scorer at 40/1 pre-tournament. Pretty frustrating that he didn't score when Wales were at their best.

Certain promises were made before Wales vs Belgium. I am a man of my word and I danced in the old square fountain like a pissed up fool alright:

Don't be so sure to judge the result of today's game. Yes, Belgium is favorite, but Wales has a very tight team that plays a lot with their heart, and an amazing counter-attack. As a team, Wales might be stronger, specially in defense. Belgium as top of the world players in the midfield and attack, but if Wales defends well enough, one single counter-attack could lead to a Begian loss.
Well, you were spot on with that :)

Not having our regular defense due to the injuries of Kompany and Vertonghen and to Vermaelen's suspension cost us dearly. Usually they can make up for what our coach lacks in tactical insight... I had high hopes though the first 25 minutes. But after that it seems they got too concerned with our weakened defense and folded back.

Bale would have a field day anyway with William Carvalho on the field because he is so damn slow. Good, but slow . Danilo is more defensive than William and on form a lot better than William, so let's see.

Hal Robson-Cruijff

What a bloody goal! You utter, utter beauty.
I hope the rumors about him being Celtic bound are true!

I'm still amazed at how well Wales played overall, it was complete football from start to finish.

Wales living up to their motto:

Gorau Chwarae Cyd Chwarae - Team Play is the Best Play

Great game yesterday and looking forward to an Italy win today!

When your manager kills himself with the team turning a corner, but then his successor has the worst start of any Wales manager (Coleman lost his first four games and 9 of his first 13), coupled with a 1-6 drubbing against Serbia... "together stronger" is more than just a gimmick.

You can see what it means to each and every member of the Wales team, players and staff alike.

Edit: I could watch this all day.

I remember years ago the England WAGs had to stay in separate hotels and could only see the players on certain days.

And now watching the Wales team and the kids are almost on the pitch as much as the players are!

You can thank Victoria Beckham at the 2006 World Cup for that! That was when the whole WAG phenomenon started and they were a ridiculous distraction for both the players and the press which is why there were eventually "banned". Luckily the Welsh teams other half’s aren't as showy or famous as their England counterparts.
