RR Phantom-its growing on me
Lamborghini Diablo-whoever hates this is absolutely nuts
Aston Martin Lagonda- beautful and elegant
Aston MArtin Zagato- brutally beautiful
And now, for what I hate most. A most overrated and in my opinion poorly designed blobby, bland, and utterly insipid dog of a supercar..the Ferrari 360 modena. I hate it. I dont see why its so popular and I really miss the gorgeous 355 a lot. Of all the cars I want to see rusting away in a scrapyard, the modena is the winner.
Now. why do I hate it? Well let me give a short personal review of its design. Start with the front. That squared off wraparound bumper is too large, too plain. Looks from some angles to have "puffy cheeks" where the styling line and cutlines parallel. The front air passager under the car leaves the car with that "kicked in the chin" look. The front headlights are a farce, poorly executed squinty tiny lights set in funky angles under a large cover that seems disproportional to the front. The hood is too flat, with no real passion or excitement invoked anywhere on the front. Moving to the side, it gets really bad. the whole profile tried to emulate I guess the 250 Lm, because it has that same hunchbacked round air intake look that got the Lambo Canto killed off. Tthe whole treatment of the front fenders is extremely sloppy, with lines and curves and angles forming a very unharmonious design that looks really bad. I know that Ferrari prides its designs on simplicity, but this design is NOT simplistic nor is it elegant. IT fails to look sleek because of the front, and hte sharp bodyline on the side looks really forced. The air intakes on the sides are bland and look like mere addons, not greatly integrated works of art as in previous Ferraris. Im also not a fan of that side window treatment. The shard edged ends of the 355 quarter windows was fitting, and intersected the bodyline in an elegant graceful way. This window treatment on the modena looks too Fordish, and by that I mean previous gen double-clench Taurus. Now moving to the rear. The curvature of the top portion is inelegant and just plain ugly. That big hump housing the rear brakelight is disgusting. Moving down, the lights are in oddly shaped housings, with hte outer ones overlapping hte inner in a rather ugly fashion. Another hting I dontl ike is how the pipes fit into that rear cutout of hte bumper. Completely bad taste IMO. Finally, the venturi tunnel integration isnt hte best Ive seen at all, and on htis car it just looksl ike someone hauled off and kicked this car right up its ass.
Well basically thats why I hate htis car. The overall shape is ok, but details wise, this car BLOWS>
