I've just preordered the ultimate edition after debating not getting it in my head for the last week lol I got it from the American store for £64 so £14 for all dlc and whatever else they give me. What do you guys think of VIP in Forza? Plus will us ultimate owners get more showcase events with future dlc?

This is the first ultimate version I've ever bought! (Apart from gears but that doesn't count)

With VIP I got 50% off the Storm Island expansion for FH2, we might get a deal when the Porsche expansion comes to FM6. You also get a few exclusive cars, at least it happened with FM5. To be honest I just preordered the Ultimate Edition without even looking what I was getting, I knew I'd be receiving the car pass DLC and that was already good enough for me.

VIP is aight, not the biggest fan of it considering the relative value it has to the car pass (for me atleast)

Car Pass = 42 cars and is $35 where I live vs. $25 for VIP and only 5 cars, a boost in xp, and maybe a discount on future expansions. Car Pass is way better value IMO.

More showcase events? As awesome as that would be...I'd think that would be highly doubtful. Most of the DLC will be Cars + the Porsche expansion coming in 2016. Another surprise expansion (like Storm Island was) is a definite possibility as I explained in the track list thread, so I'm hopeful for that. Plus, theres bound to be a few free car packs like in FM4/5/H1/H2 and other surprises.

Also to reiterate, the Car Pass only covers the first 6 packs. The Porsche Expansion and subsequent car packs after the first 6 months aren't likely to be covered by Car Pass, but they could get a discount from VIP's or the Car Pass could be extended.

Cool. It is ALOT of money for a game but I'm confident that Forza 6 will be the best one yet so I just went for it. Looking forward to seeing which dlc cars they have in store for us cause there's already so many fantastic cars!. I've got my fingers crossed we'll get the porche pack with the car pack.

Didn't they have more rivals and VIP events for Forza 5 + Horizon 2?

It's not a far stretch to imagine they'll have more showcase events for the odd special dlc car.

I'd imagine a few tracks appearing over time as well. Classic track pack- Fujimi kaido-Willow springs(carnt remember if that was the name:D)-new York.

True, as well as exclusive livery cars. But that doesn't equate to $25 for me. But rest of the goodies: the car pass (which is great value), the Fast and Furious Car Pack (which is awesome) and sweet, sweet early access all make it a great value package.
 
Already figured there was no way this was coming out at "midnight". I have to work all day Thursday but I have Friday off paid. So I will play it Thursday night when I get home from work and all day Friday. Glad they let everyone know in advance. I know a few friends that were going to stay up until midnight. Even though I already said it wouldn't release at midnight.

I'm just hoping the Xbox does a happy dance at midnight when its clock switches to the 10th and it unlocks. Otherwise, I won't be playing it until the 11th...
 
Could you guys double check that this info is correct in your region as well? I'm pretty sure it is a global release but just in case...

You know where it says "You are in too early"? After that check the description of the game, it should say something along the lines of "you can download it but it will be playable on..."

Mine says 13:01 UTC and as far as I know it is global.
 
I've decided to order the Ultimate Edition today. Need a racing fix, cant gel with P-Cars at all. Been playing The Golf Club for a long time but need a break from the wind simulator

I will make sure to set my X1 to "Instant On" before I leave work tomorrow morning. Just in case there is a day 1 update. VERY common. That way by the time I get home, I can jump in and play right away. Hopefully.
 
Been holding off on this but just dropped the cash for it now, downloading. Really can't wait to play. Just wish my wheel would work for this console, can't shell out for a whole new setup at the moment :(

I'm going to purchase it on Friday, but I'm going to be purchasing it through my Live account while I'm at work. If I leave my Xbox on Instant On, would it download as soon as I purchase it? I'm not exactly sure how it works.

That is an excellent question. Yes I think it will download after you purchase it with your live account. Otherwise it will show up in the "ready to install" section when you get home. Pretty sure it will download.

Its rare I ever have my X1 set to "Instant On" so I can not confirm if it will work for sure. Hopefully someone can chime in to give you a solid answer.
 
I'm pretty sure I've seen someone mention you can use the Smart Glass app to queue downloads. I haven't done it, but a quick check on the app makes me think it's possible.

Though good luck, since I imagine the servers will be taking a beating that day. :P

If not, I'll just boot it up when I wake up at 4 AM when I wake up for work. Hopefully that'll get me in before some people :lol:

Knew I should have stayed well clear of this thread. I'm currently looking at the 18th/19th for my first session. :ouch:
 
So I'm about to hit the sack. Eight hours of beauty sleep (not that I need it you understand!) followed by 4 hours (probably feel like a week) of work and then it's game time!
 
For me, it's 8:01 am. That gives me 3 and a half hours of play time before I go to my 11:45 am drawing class. Yay!
 
2pm is fine with me,all i have to do from here is have a late night.:) and with Slip's stream about to start,that will help.:D
 
I just double checked the install and I'm glad I did. Everything appeared in order on the surface, and the game said it was installed, but it was still at 0MB. I had to hit uninstall and reinstall, but it's moving now and should be good to go for 9AM tomorrow morning.

I'm still getting to know this Xbox One system, so where do you get below the surface to see this? Anyway, I just wrapped up 20 hours of download / installing, it better not say 0 MB here. :crazy:
