Seriously, although he did misuse the chat with fowl language he did a lot for the site. Most of the fowl language was just from kidding around and no one wouldn't have known it any other way if it wasn't for Jordan posting the logs. So the question is... What did he do wrong that others could see? Hardly anyone except primarily Organ Donor and Myself. It was kidding around, maybe a little too far. Could be our fault too that he got banned? Maybe. But still, the extent to this ban is semi-outrageous (Maybe a little over-exaggerated) in regards to how it was handled. I love the staff of this site. They all do a good job with moderating and with news. But you could have warned the guy at least? You not only banned a friend of mine but one to many of this site. Please, do a quick look and see how much he contributed to the site.
 
I agree, he made a lot of positive contributions to the community, and it was very unfortunate that he had to be banished. Banning a popular user is never easy - I was as shocked as I think many of you were when I realized the dichotomy of his personality. Regardless, it does not matter when, where, or who else was involved - I will not compromise when someone presents such flagrant disrespect for my property or the simple set of rules that I ask everyone to follow here.
 
SrRd was a very nice guy to talk with, I've been in the chat and all the profanity was dealt mostly to joke, never to offend people in any way.

Even so, if that disrespects the basic set of rules issued by the AUP, which was clearly accepted by the action of joining GTP, then the rules must apply, even for a very enthusiastic contributor and a quite intelligent poster.

I would like to have him here, but I honestly doubt he'll put his feet at GTP again, :( sorry folks, but keep going on with this subject is pointless. :(

I'm failing to see where people aren't getting it through their heads that the mods/admins have made their decision.
The kidding around argument doesn't work. What's in those logs is beyond the simple little joke insult.

But, if you think SrRd should still be unbanned for it, then I guess I should be allowed to sit here & call Famine every dirty name in the English language and tell him to GTFO & then say, "LOL, JK".

I highly doubt he would go for that.
 
Understandable. Thanks for responding guys! Nice to know we have a staff that cares. He probably would come back to GTP given the chance... but that's up to you guys I think.
 
I just have to post because I believe that SrRd was a valid contributor to this site in many ways, and I also think that he was anything but disrespectful in ALL situations in which I have seen. I think that SrRd is gone no matter what is done here, but I wanted to at the very least show my consideration for the user and the fact that what he had ever done around me in sitiuations was always appropriate, and considerate for others. With that said, you will be missed SrRd! :(

I suppose this is flowers on a grave here. It's a very sad situation. He did contribute a lot to this place. It's not going to be quite as interesting without his threads. Although what's truly sad is the idiotic stranglehold political correctness has on this planet.

I dunno, I'd give him a two week time out myself, but then I'm a forgiving person.

I think so too, maybe he should've followed the A.U.P. instead of flaming in the chat, or whatever he did.

You either learn from your mistakes or you get kicked out of the forums, it's not like we don't get numerous chances here to behave. Although I will say this place is much stricter then it was when I first start, but it's understandably so due to the huge influx of members.
 
After reading the chatlog I really couldn't justify a temporary ban if I was running this place. He really went over the top.
 
I strongly feel that he should eventually be given a chance to redeem himself, simply because he's already proven that he can potentially be an excellent contributor to the site.

We don't know why he behaved in the manner which got him banned, but it was certainly very out of character for him. I think that a couple months away from GTPlanet should straighten him out, and thus he should be allowed a last chance to be a productive member of GTPlanet.
 
I think any chance of only having a temporary ban went out the window when he started making other accounts. The subject at hand could have easily been taken care of simply by e-mailing Jordan instead of creating other accounts for that reason.

Besides, even if he was "joking" this forum prides itself on being more mature than basically every other video game forum, the "games" he played didn't fit that very well and he got punished for it.

I don't think him contributing positively in the GT5 section (which he did) should somehow balance the above out. I called it when he started his new accounts and spamming the boards; he wasn't telling the whole truth. When the sheer scale of what he did was revealed in the chat logs, I was a bit sad that I was right, but that's usually the case when someone rejoins to pull the martyr act.

Get over it. Un-banning him would basically send the message that what he did was okay.
 
The logs speak for themselves. If an upstanding citizen decides to kill someone, the judge wouldn't let him of as he'd been such a good guy before. (extreme analogy i know)

Chat link is inside the litle yellow box (top-right). Never been there, not that interested either but I guess it was Jordan's way of getting around the lack of live player-to-player communication in GT5P online.

That log is amazingly retarded, that's all I will say. I don't think un-banning of that former gtplanet member should be considered but then again my view on that is irrelevant. It's Jordan's call.
 
Well this is wierd you would not have exspected it to be honest but im sure he will take his time and eventually come back if he is allowed.
