Well it's unfortunate that the mods, who apparently could see this was going on the whole time, waited a span of a few weeks to take action against SrRd. 👍
Would you mind letting me know exactly how you know what discussions regarding behaviour were going on with SrRd and for how long that occurred?
Simple answer is that you don't, so please do not imply knowledge if a specific situation that you don't have.
All moderation activity is carried out between the staff and the members in question, just because you don't see action does not mean it isn't happening.
There have been members that have been banned but came back with new profiles. It's ok though in these situations, since these members are now model citizens of these forums. The mods know who they are, you may or may not know who they are. They came back to whipe the slate clean, and that they have. SrRd Racing came back to spam the forums asking why he was banned in the first place. He lost the privilage to come back again.
Quite right.
Not only did he come back and spam the boards in an attempt to gain enough sympathy to try and force a return, but he failed to even apologies for his actions and failed to even acknowledge the scale of them.
His claim to have simply been a bit rude in the chat logs as banter were to be blunt a lie. Banter does not involve persistent and repeated abuse, bullying of other members, impersonating the site owner, threatening to ban members while doing so, homophobic and racist comments and to top it all off sexual comments regarding kids.
His scale of AUP violation in the chat logs were more than enough to ban him many times over, let alone the spam and denial that his attempted return was characterized by.
Tell an attorney that and he'll laugh. People don't know all the laws of the states. That's why they're in existence. Same with mods... =/
I very much doubt that an attorney would laugh at that, rather confirm to you that ignorance is no defense (give it a go in court and see how you get on).
Its also completely incorrect as a statement here at GT Planet, you are required to agree to follow the AUP when you join and failure to read the AUP before agreeing to it is not the fault of the site nor a defense for breaking the AUP.
That aside I would have to ask why anyone would believe that the forums would be so firm on the AUP but we would discard all that in the chat area?
I will repeat what I said in the other thread, he did what he did because he was clearly under the impression that we did not monitor or have the ability to recover the chat logs, something he was sadly mistaken about.
To allow a member who has shown such a clear disregard to the site, its rules, owner and most importantly its members back would be to set a very dangerous precedent.
