We thought it was mildy amusing. It raised the same sort of smirk as a US program that depicts all Brits as bowler hat wearing, high tea drinking, buck tooth sporting wordsmiths.

Awesome! Your friend was really lucky to marry a Mexican woman. I am also really impressed at the fact the you two guys have not one, nor two, but three degrees together? Wow, I wish everybody could be that learned. I always heard that people in Europe are really well educated, and have just confirmed the rumor now! Unfortunately, I think that that highly intellectual worthy publication will not be available in Mexico until next week, you know, shipping to a relatively distant country that is slightly interested in said publication has some side effects. If I see it on the imported magazine section I will buy it and will really cultivate my intellect while admiring the awe inspiring beauty of the artistic magnets on my refrigerator, thanks for the tip.

We got plenty of sun around here. So I have more than enough light and a marvelous weather to read outside, and enjoy my book about the Statute of Rhuddlan.

You just reminded me of Thomas Jones, poor guy, he had to paint Italian landscapes to be appreciated, life and its cruelty...

They're still giving them away? I remember getting some Cool Wall fridge magnets in one of the Top Gear mags a few years back.
 
Why making the whole Mexican "xenophobic" a big deal?

As you might see,in entertainment media there is some aspects of cultural and racial prejudgement,and TG is also well known by making this aspect as "comic" or "joking",they were joking,just like the issue with the lorry drivers,the same for the "Americans" related quotes and jokes,same for Germans,French,Spanish(which were also a bit harsh),and lots of more entities,nations and organizations.

Apart from that,blaming presenters or BBC as a whole is quite ridiculous,since are the "writers" and "scripters" of the programme who makes the jokes,they should be blamed,of course some "checkpoints" have to be clear before giving "green light" to these comments or jokes.

My conclusion is that TG sometimes makes people offended,but most of them have a laugh and let it go,not because of the "xenophobia",but because those are jokes,nothing more.

What I'm seeing here is that this is becoming another of those "fox news" topics where the news bring more attention to the public towards the programme,and tried to misjudge the public opinion,specially on internet,but then again is just about let it go.

You can find hundreds of complains and commentaries about top gear and their "bad jokes",but these only last for at least a week so is better to don't make a big deal about it.

I personally like the episode,and I did believe that the commentary was similar to the "lorry drivers" commentaries,and bring these discussion situation,now there are two options,analyse it from other angle and not be so biased,or follow the "fox news" status of blindness and start forgettable harassments about the programme,something that I believe mods will not tolerate too much.

Finally,I like the episode,but the "dynamic" or the "casual" aspect of top gear is getting loose,the episodes seem more scripted time and time again,and the thing about top gear is their "unscript" theme and programme development,something that they are loosing and will end up in screwing up the series,something similar to what happen to The Simpsons,the last 5 seasons.

"Fox news" approach,striking back by making fun of the United Kingdom citizens will not make an apologize by top gear and will not demonstrate a point,having this address I consider that most of the content shown there can be consider as offensive and clearly against the rules of AUP.

Top Gear did the "bad joke",GTPlanet have nothing to do with this case,post reported,I get your rage but you just have to let it go or rant somewhere else.

and not in a 'its insulting to the Brits' kind of way, just in a 'just not funny' kind of way!

You have got to stop taking it so personally,
If you can mock other people(Americans or whatever) then you can't complain when you get a bit of a slagging,
This week it was the Mexicans AND the Aussies, next week probably Americans AGAIN, or the Germans AGAIN or the French AGAIN, etc, etc....

Basically so far you explained that if an American or some other close nation calls you 'lean against a fence lazy' its okay, but if the Brits do it, its not ok,
This is coming from a person from a country that isn't short of a few stereotypes, move on.

Sorry,but found some posting like that on a forum which is regulated by AUP rules and actually uses critic, intelligent and diverse points of view makes some people look a bit out of place.

Unlike youtube's comment box,this is a place where intelligent discussion take place,is not a ranting space and is not a place made to start racial "fights",this is a very delicate topic and you just making fun of it,something that will make mods a bit angry in my opinion,in any case watch your words,this is not a you tube reply box.

Why would I care what anyone says about the Brits, seriously, I have as much reason to hold a grudge against them as any person,

Wait, now things will change, TG will be shut down and Clarkson, Hammond and May will be fired, then extradited to Mexico where they will be lined up against a wall and shot.........

or.......

they'll make a joke about the complaints in the next episode like they do with all the complaints they recieve,
be it stereotyping, speeding on public roads, criticising government, smoking in studio(classic) or Morris Marinas!!!!!!
