AAGGHH, somebody please tell me how to make the RUF CTR2 stop understeering... it's wrecking my head :banghead: .

the zonda race car has the same prob...check out that post below about the 'Zonda Race Car Question' for general tips on correcting understeer...

Any time buddy...

are you going out on Wed to watch the game?

Sure am, a mate of mine has tickets to it but sure hey... will settle for second best and kick back in some pub. C'mon the Celts!!! :D

c'mon the HOOOOOOOOPS.....Larsson will get no. 200 for Celtic and we will be champions of Europe and best in the world...

anyway this understeer thingy, i gather its something to do with the front suspension and LSD....

Somethin like that, been checkin up on it in your thread on the Zonda racecar, must have a look at it when I get home... try one or two things.

Hold on....youre not surfing while at work are you??

(looks over my shoulder)..

Am I feic, I'm in college... just finished the last of my summer exams. So, I'm outta here... gotta go do the drink thing and so on and so forth (hopefully I'll sober up in time to remember the match tomorrow night). Laters. P.S> I'm such an ambassador for Ireland!!! :D

arse drink feck girls....yea..i didnt know the Irish took a drink!!...

this from a man whose mother is from Dublin and father from Glasgow..!...i also have been known to partake of a light refreshment or two..(not while driving of course)..

$wd drive cars are plagued by understeer... the only thing i can suggest is to buy a VCD and give 90% of power to the rear wheels... oh and put the TOE IN at 2.0 in the rear. the toe will give slight oversteer
PEACE
oh and be safe drinking.

He means TOE OUT, I believe. That steers the more heavily loaded outside rear tire towards the outside of the turn. Toe in is the opposite and would tend to stabilize the car, ie promote more understeer.

A quick way to negate understeer is to set Toe to 0.5 front, -0.5 rear. This gets rid of the most exaggerated understeer in most cars.

Other things you might like to try:
Set rear camber higher than front (try 2.0/2.4 and work from there - don't be afraid of going into 3s rear)
VCD to 10% on 4WD cars.
LSD to 5/5/5
ASM OFF! TCS as low as possible - 1 for a good launch though.
For very high power-to-weight FFs, you need Toe of +0.5/-2.0. You can actually drift Minis with this... :D

Go to settings and tunings, and there find a thread: LSD tuning guide. There you'll find all you want about understeering and oversteering in RWD, FWD and 4WD.

will that work on the audi S4? the quattro system is highly regarded by everyone (looked great in that clip on top gear for those who watch the show (bbc) ) but it is awful in gran turismo...

i set front camber to 0 which helped in my bmw but the s4 still handles like a dog

0 Camber is always a bad idea (unless you're on Test Course)...

Toe +0.5/-0.5 should help in the S4 nicely.

i agree with your settings, famine, very similar to "fumes" work (from www.gtvault.com )...i just wanted to say i love "hearing" you irish and scottish guys talk, y'all can really turn a phrase, too bad you don't play real football!

thanks for correction NEON..... TOE OUT IS WHAT i was refeering to..... BY THE WAY.... your quote on damage by the PRODUCER (KAZORONI?????? lol) i agree with it.... I for one am against physical da,age to cars, but am totally for some kind of damge to parts..... THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE PUNISHMENT for slamming into walls. i have a friend who is notorious for using the wall as his own personal safety net and it needs to stop.... just my 2 cents

not really, damage to cars sucks, the notion that for whatever reason you wouldn't be able to make up the time after a crash doesn't appeal to me. however penalties for people who deliberately slam the wall for sure. perhaps time penalties? i.e. 5 seconds for each wall contact that decreases ur speed by more than 150kph? :P maybe 3 strikes and ur out? though for some ghey races its mandatory... like the lame ones where the AI keeps whacking you and u cant get far away enough because the series doesn't allow a better car....
