man my favorate car now is the scorpion seeing a group of newbs together and pulling out my sythes get me everytime hahaha!!! the 1 thing i hate is how everyone spams the avril rocket launcher and goes vehicle hunting

The AVRiL doesn't actually kill vehicles with one shot though. Only Mantas. Tanks actually take 2-3 shots to kill.

And also, few people know that once you've homed in on someone and the rocket is on it's way, that if you hold the right-click you are kinda "forced" to follow the tank, because tha game does it for you. As long as ou have a clear view (like the vehicles not hiding behind a hill) then the shot will certainly make it there. Better keep moving though, you lose a lot of visiblity with that function and can't let go until the rocket hit the vehicle.

What is true, though, is that everyone is a Raptor whore. And no one loves the Hellbender at all.

I didn't realize this game would become so hot. I'd better preorder for its supposed [EBGames] March 16th release.

I'm not a raptor whore. I love the hellbender. It rules. Besides I use whatever vehicle is near me. I aint going to get picky on what I want to drive. :P

I want to get the limited edition pack thing...Shiny aluminium and the game on a DVD...

the Local EB was SOLD OUT of UT2004.the guy on the phone told me they only sent 15 copies of the game and sold out in a matter of hours

now i gotta wait till the weekend when he say's more copies of the game will come in.

I picked it up last night from Best Buy and am currently installing it. My friend got the last SE pack which is on DVD and comes with videos and a headset.
It's 6 CD's and according to specs requires 5.5 Gigabytes (Holy smoke  )

I'll give my impressions later when I have it installed and have played for a bit.

The game certainly is selling like hotcakes.

And viewing the official Atari forums, there are already quite a few mods in the works.

I've had enough time to get familiar with the game finally and I've recommended it to so many people already.
I really feel that it's the game that we all hoped Halo PC would be and so very much more.
I've almost totally ignored all game modes aside from Onslaught which absolutely rocks. Raptors are definitely a bit out of balance, but my bet is that they lose a bit in the first patch or two. (Locking on Mantas for instance.)
I can't wait for mods, because you know there will be some amazing vehicles (warthog will probably appear before any others.)

I managed to get the last copy in town lastnight! Thanks to Tom M's suggestion, I hunted it down. I was an hour late getting to work this morning because of this game. I haven't tried the other modes yet, but Onslaught is really fun. I could see where it would be fun with some 'organization'. Haven't really put enough time in it otherwise to for any other opinions other than it runs really smooth (1600x1200 FULL everything) with fast framerates and stunning graphics.

Pako, did you get the 6 CD set or the DVD version?

I've drawn the conclusion that something is wrong with the 6 CDs that gives game bugs, but then a lot of DVD users have no problems...

I'm more into realism based games like Battlefield and Counter-Strike. Occationally I like to get my kill-on with some alien scum, but that's few and far between.

I did, however, play the mess out of Half-Life. Both the mission mode and the online multiplayer consumed much of my personal time.

I got the only version available in my town, CD-Rom. NO Bugs though..., plays great!

I agree, most of what I play and enjoy are reality based (RTCW, Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty and a little DOD thanks to Pako), but the most glaring exceptions have been Half life, Halo, and Quake (always bought unreal, but didn't like it as much as Q3)
Having said that, Unreal literally has everything you could imagine wanting in a FPS and quite a bit more.
I played an Assault map the other night where you begin in a space fighter and have to destroy the shield generators. After that you need to land on the station and lay siege to smaller force field generators to enter the core to destroy the station. Once you do that you switch sides and try to defend the base.
Another assault map has you sacking a factory with tanks while trying to avoid turrets (both manned and unmaned.) Another has you on a moving train trying to hijack/destroy another train while zooming side by side at great velocity. The list goes on, but I do not. ;)

I generally hate fps games with a passion but I didn't mind ut2k3 too much so ...I just downloaded 2k4...but I won't be able to play for another month when exams are over :(. If I like the game enough, I'll go out and buy it if only for the serial number

In Day of Defeat, the Avalanch map is the only one worth playing (IMO). :)

Farcry and Battlefield Veitnam are also supposed to be doozies...

The other day I logged in about 5 hours of UT2004. I then retired and went on to some DOD. WOW, what a change. The game play was soooo much slower (which isn't a necessarally a bad thing). It was just odd how my hand/eye cordination had adapted to the faster game play of UT2004.

Community Bonus Pack 2 Announced
The Community Bonus Pack team has totally revamped their site. They've also announced the upcoming release of CBP2 for UT2004, and holy heck, it looks pretty amazing. At the moment, they're targeting a mid-May release.

The CBP returns with a vengeance for UT2004, with a whole host of brand new maps, models and mutators!

Vietnam is pretty fun. Although it seemed it could have done fine as an expansion pack.

Anyone got any tips on how to take down a leviathan, that thing owns.I remember blasting it with 2 Redeemer rockets and all my ammo and it kept going. Not even 4 of us were a match againt it.

The best thing to do is shoot at it with a Raptor. Get as many Raptors on it as you can, and maybe some snipers.

Raptors are good because you can dodge the missles and ion beam.
