Unreliable check marks on purchased cars

Already purchased several duplicates at the UCD as they did not have the checkmark. Last one got me suspicious and when I checked my garage... sure enough I found 5 duplicates purchased in error since the 1.06 update. This feature WOULD be great if it actually WORKED! :grumpy:

My guess is that it shows the car as sold out because you may have bought the cars months ago and the game detects that in your log and maybe that's the reason it shows the mark.

They were not marked as sold out. They were not marked at all, which led me to believe I don't have them yet, so I bought them only to find them as duplicates in my garage later.

Maybe cars bought before the update don't work with it in the UCD? Who knows.

Most of the cars are recognized as 'already purchased' and marked as such, but some apparently slipped through somehow. I don't mind the duplicates that much - it's how many I may have missed due to wrongly applied check marks that worries me.

EDIT: Ooops, sorry for double post

I found this out as well, but before I made a duplicate purchase. I went home at noon, installed the update, and started looking at the new features, including the Used Car Dealership. I already have about 740 cars in my garage, and there were about five (5) cars in the UCD that were not checked off. I went ahead and checked all of these against the master list that I've been using, and sure enough, I already had a Mazda MX-5 Miata 1800 RS (NB,J)'00, but in a Metallic Silver, and not a Classic Red like the one presently in the UCD.

Perhaps the simple fact that the color was different caused it to be considered a different car, but it does not give me much confidence, and I will have to bear down and keep checking against my master list in order to avoid buying duplicates.

It's better than nothing, deal with it. Don't like it don't use it. Simple huh?
If it has, people complain that it has. If it hasn't, people complain that it hasn't:grumpy:

How can you defend something that's broken? Your blind support is sickening, and your attitude disgusting. The OP has found a legitimate bug.

This is NOT something that can be avoided, the OP can't choose to enable or disable the feature. People will be mislead into buying duplicates, unless they are made aware with a thread like this one.

P.S. The feature IS NOT better than nothing. Before the "feature" people were not MISLEAD into buying cars they previously owned. Owned.

Typical fanboy response. Remarks like this are not only unhelpful; they're counter productive. If you have nothing to offer to a thread, then don't comment.

If PD is going to offer a feature, then it should work right. There's nothing wrong with expecting that and it's not complaining to point it out.

That seems a bit silly.

It's a new feature that may not be working correctly and we should just ignore it and be happy that we got a potentially broken feature?

It would be cool if the blue check also had a numbr of how many cars of that type you haave,

For example I want 2 of every impreza and 3 or some like the 22b.

I still have to write down all the Imprezas I have on paper to keep track or go back to the garage, then sort by manufacture, then year to make sure I only have one particular car.

Just saying, it would be a cool feature to expand on this.

Mates I'm not a fanboy, I'm just very pleased that PD made this feature. If it's broken, fix it, but it's good anyway. At least I know, in general, what cars do I have...
And if I was a fanboy? Do you have problems with that? Jesus...I was just showing my opinion, and as I respect others, you should respect mines
Sorry to OP if I was misunderstood

I don't get it.. people whined about there being no kind of feature to show that you own a certain car.. now that it comes in and is a bit bugged.. people whine ever more!

just be grateful for what PD have given us.. they could've easily not made any new updates and left the game as it was but they didn't, they decided to update the game and make it better to, i suppose, please the GT5 community

Perhaps it's due to English not being your first language, but your first post can easily be seen as incredibly rude and "it's broken, so what? Deal with it".

The feature, if it works, is great and needed. If it doesn't work then it's essentially no better, and possibly worse, than what we had before.

So you're fine with an unreliable "feature" being added?

Jeez, the PD fanbois never stop either do they?

About that statement you are right mate. A bit rude perhaps. But it just anoys about so much complain...but complain has to be made...
Guess what, I'm just step back and :banghead:

As I said to the other fanboi, you're fine with broken things?

Adding a feature that's broken is WORSE than not adding the feature at all. They're going BACKWARDS.

They ABSOLUTELY deserve any complaints that arise out of broken features.

Sorry to OP if I was misunderstood

I respect ~99.5% of people's opinions, but sometimes somebody says something so ridiculous that I want to smack them in the face and say "What the **** is wrong with you?"

"Mislead"? I think you might be overreacting a little.

Patch 1.05 era: Checks UCD. Not sure if I have this car. Checks garage. Confirmed. (annoying, slow, but precise)
Patch 1.06 era: Checks UCD. It says I don't have this car. Buys car. Next week: Gosh Darn I already had one of these. (quick, but awful)

We would be better off without the feature at all than to have it be broken. They should hire some more quality control people.

Can you stop complaining about what I said?? I already said sorry...
Now you maybe deserve that too...

I really like this idea!

Is there any chance this is making a distinction between purchased and gifted cars?

As long as it doesn't check cars you don't have, I can live with it. :)

Yeah, the completists among us wouldn't mind having a few instances of cars purchased mistakenly if the new feature doesn't lead them to avoid buying something they don't have. At least that's my guess.

Thanks for the heads-up on this, OP. I'll continue checking mygranturismo.net and my garage before buying a car in the game.

If this is a problem it will be only with those cheap cars that look like the same, I guess.
Who don't know that they have, for example, a R92CP in their garage?
At least I'm loving this feature by now:) It helps a lot...and if I buy a car that I already have, np.
