Yes, and if the original color you picked was the one with the decal (not sure if you choose one of the others), it stays on when you change colors.

Honestly, the Lexus sounds nowhere near as good as the Alpine. They both sound a little raspy and generic; the Lexus more so, but the Alpine pops and bangs like no car in GT ever has done before - something I've wanted for a long time.

It seems likely then, as they've clearly demonstrated an understanding of how to do it, that at least some of the future additions to the GT series will have more characterful engine sounds.

I have to say, the race version of the Alpine VGT is probably my favourite VGT so far, and in my opinion one of the best looking cars on the game. They managed the find the perfect balance between retro and futuristic. Mitsubishi & Subaru take note.

Yeah its sounds like a motorcycle.

If i think it has a V8, then it should be sounded like this:

Sounded both stale to me.. The race version sounds like a citreon c1 :odd: and the Lexus sounds like a cbr600 on startup. Tourists trophy 2 confirmed

Do you know that the Lexus startup is taken straight from the Suzuki GSXR Concept?

Just saying.

That Figures it wasn't a car engine I knew that. O pd least your recycle saving the planet and all that. I just throw everything in the bin lol

The new sounds are clearly using PD's AES method.

The Lexus VGT has a flat-plane V8, not cross-plane. Not sure why they'd do that; maybe it sounds more racey (good luck getting that RC F engine to rev to 13 000 rpm, mind you). The "engine" (as opposed to exhaust and the ever-absent intake) sound is louder than normal in the interior, like the HSV-010.

The Alpine is gloriously reminiscent of those old four-cylinder Renault engines, well done PD. The pipe rasp is a little over-reactive, though, for my tastes.

So much for the anticipated March Update... Meanwhile, a February update came out of nowhere and somehow managed to be so much more interesting.

Alpine exchaust "pops"/emit sound effect where no car has done so in GT6 before.

We have the off throttle in RB and derivates but thess "pops" in this accelerator positions are new.

That is a great little tease suggesting that PD is into our demands for more alive engine sounds with accompanying effects like the "pop" Alpine have.

Then we have the great tire noise in Lexus/Fujii combo - much less frustrating than the current one. 👍 I really hope that's a new tire noise.

I wish though we would be done with the teasing by now and this things would be ready to roll out in full.

Anyway Alpine is super photogenic. Great looking car. 👍

The Lexus event was WAY too easy! I golded it first time and got 4,100th place, my highest ever ranking , with a scrappy lap even by my standards! The Alpine events were harder but still easy to gold eventually!

Love the cars though. The Lexus painted matte black with the brushstrokes looks sweet!

Like this concept or a new real car? I think they just tune BMW's right now so a totally new car would be awesome

A new real car. It was originally going to a joint venture with Caterham (akin to Toyota-Subaru GT86/BRZ and upcoming BMW/Toyota sports car), but the deal broke down so Alpine is going it alone.

With Toyota and Lexus bringing VGT cars with similar performance, I wonder what is Honda going to make...

I like the Lexus sound better. The turbo whoosh and the electric power recharging/discharging is pretty slick. Plus 13k rpm ;)

Those are far from the only cars, or the first, with air brakes. The reason they're on top is you can have a wing double as an air brake, and it won't get in the way of anything. This idea is purely for aesthetic reasons, and frankly looks stupid.

Well I did say those two were what came to mind at the moment. I'm sure there are much more examples. I wouldn't necessarily say it's purely aesthetic. If it perhaps had one open instead of two whilst turning it could help cornering ability. But it doesn't do that.
