I'd imagine it's done this way because having them on top has already been made. Mitsubishi's concept car and the Pagani come to mind.

Those are far from the only cars, or the first, with air brakes. The reason they're on top is you can have a wing double as an air brake, and it won't get in the way of anything. This idea is purely for aesthetic reasons, and frankly looks stupid.

The Lexus VGT sounds amazing. Truly amazing. The Alpines aren't bad either.
Bring on this AES sound engine for GT7!

yes, finally! can't wait to drive these two VGTs!! :D :D :D

Been looking forward a lot to the Alpine, because it just simply looks beautiful. And the Lexus, can't wait to compare it to its cousin, the Toyota FT-1 VGT. Comparos, anyone? 💡 💡 💡

Reminds me of the Predator movies every time those flaps spring open.

Going to download this afternoon.. It only sucks I forgot to max the log-in bonus beforehand :( ohwell, I want the cars more than the credits :)

I've downloaded it, but I'm too busy to play atm, just got bob running around making me cash while my boy has his tea and watches cartoons (Picture in picture, bob's got a tiny screen of his own in the corner of the telly lol). I'll check out the predator later.

I think the Lexus has THE BEST sound in the game. Slightly better than the Subaru Viziv and Mazda LM55. And man does it rev, 13,000 rpm and higher.

Did they seriously just copy/paste the mazda vgt sound to the lexus?
edit: they did but its at a lower pitch.

Love the balance of the Alpine. Torquey beast too.

The Lexus screams modern F1 sounds along with being a sweet drive too.

Shame about the course maker, but more to look forward to while enjoying these.

I get they're air brakes, but why put them on the sides? Putting air brakes on the sides of a car is such a stupid idea. Obviously they're there more for a visual "cool factor" than anything else. There's a good reason air brakes are always on the top of cars, because they won't, as NW48 suggests, be broken off when a car is alongside going into a braking zone, or when you use the whole track in a street circuit.

The video intro explains this (in french, but i guess there are subtitles): they cared about gamers during the design of the rear as it's what some players are likely to see the most. The flaps are there because of the visual experience, and i like it ;)

They could've had it on the "bootlid" area of the rear....

The brake flaps just add more drag while braking to stop the car.

Ummm... Why two Alpines?
So that they could brag later, that they added XX amounts of cars for free

Three very nice cars. The Lexus is my fave of the three, shame you can't change the number and the Alpine's are nice to drive =)

I like them. I have to commend the design teams that participated in VGT. All of them. To take on a project for the world to see and play is just great. This is a good thing for now and the future.
