I cant play online because the update always fails

I was having the same problem; 6 fails in a row the first time I tried to connect after the update.
I checked my broadband connection - all OK
Cleared the system cache (in the options:network menu)
That didn't fix it, so I rebooted the console.
Fixed.
Last night PASM39 was having the same problem - he rebooted his console and it solved his problem too.
