URGENT: Many Burnout Paradise Save Games Are Resetting

See what I did was I deleted all the game data, bootup the game, let the game do its reset memory thing. After that I did some stuff to let it save (auto-save), quit the game, reinstall v1.9 and got all my DLC back. Then I deleted that save and copied my old save from my usb drive.

And for those people experiencing issues color glitching their lovely cars, have a look at this. In it I colour my car on my own. The procedure is not different I just have to set up the car differently since I have to work around the Cops and Robbers mechanics.

I wanted that red/orange, so I selected the green (that's left to it).
No other car falls in between the 2 hawkers. I've got the gold finish on, drive out, begin.

The ski jump doesn't require a Hawker, it's just that the hawker is the fastest cop car that has a colour palette:

edit: oh 🤬 THAT'S WHAT I FORGOT! Darren, you were supposed to set the colour on the regular hawker, NOT the PCPD. My Apologies I'm so used to being the one helping others colour their car. Let's try again tomorrow.

Why does it have to be the regular hawker?
You're in your sabotage, then when we go into CnR, you're "forced" into a regular hawker (finish 1)... When we do that jump, we're not letting the game force you back into your sabotage. Now that you're in a regular hawker (which is colourable in the spray booth), you drive through one, and now it selects the colour that's next to the one that's currently on the hawker and paints it that colour, but don't forget that hawker you're driving is really supposed to be your Sabotage. So what happens? You tricked the game and now the spray booth coloured your gold/platinum finish.

I'm glad I wrote this or else I would have never figured it out.

Here's my massive collection:

I truly forgive you. So I done it right all along, you just 🤬 up a bit. Is ok.

BTW The "DIY" version of it looks way difficult, I'll stick with Ski Jump. Also Colour Glitching might need its own thread... ;)

Mine is Secured (yet).Played Online yesterday .AOS and anybody else Send me an invite if you want to play again.(I am terrible though :D

Challenges or Races, or nothing. I refuse to play any contact-required games because of lag (even though I know how to get around it.

Darren, what you saw me do in the DIY video is EXACTLY what I do when you jump... it's so much more faster and less tedious than floating the Van so it's definitely not worth throwing out because it looks hard.

Would you believe it's difficult (to cancel Cops&Robbers and start a new one before one touches the ground) if I told you I that I taught 2 people and they became successful strictly from written instructions? :sly: It's really not hard at all.

Geez I haven't touched my Burnout in a while. Are they working to fix it or should I go your guys' route and fix it on my own? This is actually the only game I bothered to Platinum so I would be extremely disappointed to lose it :scared:

Don't bother putting your disc in just yet. I'll give you a thumbs up when I think it's totally safe to start playing again.

Man, there are people who'd pay good money to hear things like that...

I'm sorry. I've a dirty mind.

I have the version from the PS Store so no disc. Am I still affected?

I heard people having issues for both disc and non-disc... just wait it out or google for other forum responses.

And T-12 if that's the case, then you owe me $12.00USD, I'll be waiting for an e-mail confirmation that I received said amount in my Paypal account. :sly:

I just installed BO:P fresh the other day, I hadn't touched it since my PS3 YLOD'd when GT5 came out... Is there any information on whether or not this could happen to me, or if I'm safe? Still, I guess if it does happen I can just fix it...

Also, slightly OT (sorry), back when I played the game religiously (before the Diamond P12 was a thing) I had the Carbon Uberschall 8, which required two complete sets of challenges. I've been online once since then but I don't think my challenges came back; does this mean challenges are synced online with a specific save file, rather than just with your account? Because, if it were the latter, surely it should have told me I've done at least two sets of challenges and given me the car? I don't mind doing them again, though, as long as I can find people to do them with.

Well as long as you have a save that wasn't last saved recently... I'd back up that onto a USB drive or something. Play if your urge is too strong, but just have a backup ready.

I think the challenges are tied to your save... I got back all of mine.

I lost my save when my PS3 died, my current one is less than a week old. Oh well, it's no big loss if it does reset, I guess I just won't play any more!

Wait, what is this hidden fee of $12? :P
