URGENT: Many Burnout Paradise Save Games Are Resetting

Hello,

A couple days ago, I had posted a thread asking for help in the game, Burnout Paradise on PS3.
yesterday, I had realized that my profile had reset. No the file was not corrupted.

But today I had found out that it was not just my profile that reset, many other people on my friends list are telling me that their profiles were also resetting. 👎

So here's what I have to say: If your save game was also reset, please, email criterion games @ mailbag@criteriongames.com and title your message "URGENT: Burnout Paradise Save Games Are Resetting!"

I have e-mailed criterion games several times about this issue, but there is a very slim chance that they will actually read it. I can't stand alone. I believe that if many of us reset victims email them about this issue, they'll will look at some of them. But I need help.

well let me put it this way,
another person on this board, AOS-, agreed to help me with the online challenges, yesterday at 12:00 Pacific, I went to load up my game and it had reset!

At the main menu, normally there are 4 choices to choose from.
What had happened was that now there were only 2 choices:

Enter Paradise City
or
Start A Party

I pressed enter paradise city and the introduction video, the one with the girl speaking about the basics of paradise had started.

Its as if I was starting off brand new.

btw, this has happened to 3 other people on my friends list SO FAR...
 
Mine has gone too, its not corrupted. It just reset. So thats 4
 
Did you download for free from PS Store? When you download it starts a new save. But I doubt this is the reason why this is happening...

Mines the Blu-Ray version.
 
If you have this problem apparently the following will fix it:

1. If you have a premium avatar, remove it/change it to a normal one

2. There is a setting in your xmb for connecting to a media server (should be in network settings). Turn it off.

Should fix everything.

EDIT: I don't think this will fix your game if it has already reset. It only prevents it resetting and ruining your game.

People, people, your data is not deleted, don't worry. . . You see, the problem is, the game is not loading your data. If you go and check in your saved data, your complete game is still there, the game just seems to not read it. So what I suggest, is that you don't overwrite your data with a new one, and keep it until Criterion fixes it..

well I have emailed them, & so have a couple other people,
i don't think they care unless a majority of players tell them. I've also tweeted them :P

1. Email Criterion Games
2. Buy the Timesaver packs

This is a bug of some form and Criterion Games may look into it in the coming days.

Trust me, they know of it, they just can't be bothered to fix it ASAP. . . This problem started last month with some people.

I'm not wasting $5...especially since they don't give me the sponsor cars i had
 
I still think it has to do with PS+... I'm waiting until it expires first.

I don't mind replaying the game though... it was totally fun and nostalgic.

If we can't get our saves back....I would have effectively lost over 30 coloured glitch finishes.... Luckily I have already recorded and d

Anyone want to do some challenges and color glitch some rides with me? :D

What do you mean "premium" avatar? A paid one?

I haven't played BP for maybe a year...now I'm afraid to even put the disc in. I have 199% completion. Okay, I made that up. But I did everything in that game possible, even all 500 challenges. If I were to lose all that..🤬

In for it, as I sort of want the Diamond P12, and some fancy colored cars. ;)

I would really doubt its to do with PS+, can you explain yourself? Also read Ryou's earlier post, your save data is still there along with completion %. Just wait for Criterion to fix this 🤬 and don't put your Burnout Paradise disk in your PS3.

EDIT: If you've restarted, (Like Me) theres no way of getting it back as far as I know.

If it doesn't continually reset it, I'd start a whole new career right here and now....Including all 500 challenges again.

If all lot of us gather to do challenges I sincerely hope a lot of you guys know certain tricks to doing challenges....in which case I refer you all to this I made a while ago:

:lol: Very funny! And serious at the same time.
 
Well I got my save file back up and running. No colors were lost, no challenges were lost, though it said at one point I had zero completed, but as soon as I jumped online it said I was done all 500. OH well. I was kind of looking forward to redoing them again.
 
Thanks for the warning. I haven't played it in about 4 weeks, but I was getting ready to go play it again. So if I don't play it I am not at risk for this right?
