If you only drive cars that are completely glued to the tarmac then obviously you are going to struggle when you get into a situation where you are given a difficult car to drive and are unable to tune it. If you could learn how to be quick with this car in this series i'm sure it would only make you a better driver, it certainly wouldnt ruin your driving ability! Though it might make you a little lazy when it comes to setting up a car lol.

i'm totaly agree you:tup: after i race here i think i'm improve a lot:tup: ,espeailly throtte control, before i race here,no matter what car i drive,i MUST use tcs at acrade mode, now i can use the throtte as my traction control (thanks, because you told me no tcs is faster)and learn more about the track with the f1,i really think this series really improve my driving.i'm lazy to setup my car,but i always do my 100% to driving:)

Yay, I got on the podium :) Great times by the Williams pair, I was on the same 1 stop startegy as you two, I guess I took it too easy to conserve my tyres, but yay, im just so happy to be in the top 3 of the race :D

good job everyone, and espeailly east,i can see you improve a lot before you race here.👍
i think this is the best ever result for williams,rmk700 did a perfect drive this week,i'm very very happy with the result:)

Excellent . . . P1. A mere three points, but I am admittedly happy to go into this round without a weight penalty. Has to be painful on that long straight.

Is there a deadline for posting replays, or are we required to do so?

Great racing everyone

Well done to YIN and rmk, amazing times with all your weight penalties, and of course to east for beating me to the podium :ouch:

Z. will be very dangerous next week!

See you in Japan...

No replay required Z. I'm going to try and post my replays just because I want to.
Nice qualify time.👍

Thaks yet again for the reply, rmk. I would also like to post my runs for that reason, so I picked up a copy of Pinnacle Studio this afternoon. Very easy to use, and within minutes I should have this lap available on youtube (takes longer for them to process it than it does for me to encode it . . . heh). No problems for PAL users viewing my runs, now. :)

I messed up on the recording a bit, but it's not bad for the first time around.

What is the pinnacle studio thing? And how much did it cost? I think I might have seen it before but I don't know how it works. Do you plug it into the USB connector on the PS2? Or do you have to plug the connector from the ps2 to the TV to it? And if that's the case, do you still see it on your TV when you're recording?

Pinnacle studio is either a card for the pc or a USB plugin that acts as a TV tuner/recorder for the pc!

I use one to play GT4 on my pc!

The desk allows easy attachment for my DFP, and allows the use of my reclining exec chair for driving in.

Advantages:
It frees up a TV
It lets me do as I stated above
I can race and surf on the same machine in the same location, at the same time
I can listen to 200Gb of music whilst driving
I can record any run/saved replay for instant upload at the click of one button

Disadvantages:
On some screens (especially TFT's) the display can be fuzzy due to the hardware resolution being different to TV resolutions
No HD tuners available yet, that would solve the above drawback

OH!
And they cost about £20-25 or $35-40!

Hope you don't mind me butting in?

Neil

Thanks, Neil. That about covers the basics. :)

Pinnacle itself is USB-based and looks like this:

I'm not too familiar with the audio adapter on it, hence no audio in the above lap, but that's about the only thing I haven't figured out yet. The rest is very straight-forward. I watch this on my PC monitor so like Neil was saying, it frees up a TV. :)

Do you know where the best place is to get that, because I have
always wanted to get one so I could make videos of my replays.

I got mine from a local discount computer store mainly because I avoid places like Best Buy and Circuit City at all costs (ha.. bad pun). I'd say if you were looking to get one online, you might try out tigerdirect.com or pricewatch.com

Thanks for the help guys. As for the audio hookup, from the picture it looks like you'd have to get an adapter to go from the audio jack of the PS2 to the movie recorder.

As I said, mine's a card that slots into the actual pc motherboard.
But the principle is the same.

Connections are easy, just go to your nearest Maplin (or similar) and get a 'Y' adaptor "red/white RF - 3.5mm headphone jack"

Plug the red and white plugs(of the PS2 RF lead) into the Y-adaptor and the 3.5mm jack into the input on the 'device' and it should work straight away!

One piece of advice is to go to the pinnacle website and download the latest drivers and software. It tends to work better.

I have been using my PS2 this way for well over 2 years without a single problem.

Enjoy!

Neil

I just bought the new pinnacle dazzle 85 for 20 bucks on Ebay, brand new and in the box! All I have to do is hook up my PS2 directly to it with no adapters and then I just plug the other end into my USB drive! It couldn't get any easier. I found this thing on the pinnacle website for about $120, but I highly suggest going on Ebay.
