Remember in GT1 & 2, their were used car showrooms at some car manufacturers? (All Japanese) Not like in GT4. Don't you think they should put the certain used cars back into the dealerships? And have them not just mostly for Japanese dealerships, but for America, UK, Italy, and other Countries as well?

I agree about your point with the used cars being mainly Japanese. I would like to see a lot more used cars from Europe in particular. But it probably won't happen :indiff:

Used cars should make a return in some form, I can't see them going back to the GT3 formula of having all cars listed as new. But we have no idea whether it will be individual for each manufacturer or whether it will be sorted by year like in GT4.

Yeah, like a trade-in sale.
I liked the GT4 layout with the ability to dig out that hidden gem once in a while. I could see it working if they were high mileage or 'discount vehicles'.

Considering it is a dealership though, wouldn't you be paying 10% too much for each vehicle with a likeliness to break when you pull out of the driveway? :)

Would love to see a tie-in with Auto Trader etc, kinda like Grid did with ebay, and to haggle with the seller! I know it would never happen but it would be nice to see!

I hated that sooooooooo much. Having to start with a Miata instead of some sleeper-road rocket that could be bought for <10K credits.

Anyway, I believe GT will have used dealerships again, since it's one of the series most acknowledged characteristics. Come on: buying a used Silvia/old EVO/Celica/Civic and racing VW Polos at the Sunday Cup at Autumn Ring Mini in order to raise the money for a sports muffler, a stage 1 weight reduction, and an ecu . You know you can't resist it.

I certainly hope to see the used car showrooms like in GT2 where every manufacturer has an individual showroom. It makes it alot easier to find the car you want.

Amm...there's hundreds of cars in the game, which are now 5-10-15 years old, it doesn't make much sense for you to be buying them new, now does it? ;)

Well, it's what you do in GT5P.... They're just called dealerships, like they were in GT3. Personally, I liked a lot GT4's map layout. It made me feel like I was truly travelling around the world looking for cars and races :D. I don't like having all dealerships packed into one menu, I'd like each dealership to be individual and different like they were in previous GT's instead of just going to the "Car Dealer".

The car dealerships are what i really liked about GT. I remember spending like 30 minutes looking for a starter car in GT4....But FM3, just one short minute.

That's been the case since GT came out. But whn I say they're biased, I get called an ass and a loony.:dunce:

Since i think GT5 is being the most internationally focussed GT yet and given some used car feature will probably appear i expect Europe, US and other nations/continents to be more equally represented than before.
There was a small selection of those already in GT4, although the majority was and probably will still be Japanese.
I don't particularly care if these used cars were offered by dealers or by some general marketplace, although i do agree with CarBastard that the inclusion of high-mileage worn out bangers you gradually restored to their former glory is not only fun, but also offered a high performance low cost alternative to for example a Miata.

I would love a 'certified' used car section in the manufacturers section of great condition unmodified cars which are dynamic (random cars come and go) then a general dealership dealing in mixed bag of makes, models, modifications and condition (again dynamic). Also a 'prestige' used dealership might be nice too where you don't rock up at the used dealership which have a 1984 Honda CRX and a 1991 Lamborghini Diablo mixed together (once again dynamic).

I don't think they're biased. On the contrary, most used cars here in Canada are either Japanese or American! I miss the music of the dealerships in GT1...

LeMons racing FTW!:D hehe
p.s. I really hope production cars get more damage than scratches, but I doubt it. Anyhow, I'd love to race the older cars, and watch them slowly get more banged up! hihihi Fun!:D

:D, easiest way to win money, although Sunday Cup always was a place to race some cool hatches, like March Turbo and Punto HGT.

I like the way GT2 deal with used cars, but I'd prefer the GT4 way of selling used cars, checking the dealers week to week, until you find that high mileage used sports car was awesome, just like digging a treasure from the thrash can.

Honda S600 FTW!

But they are biased. Always have been :)

I certainly agree with that.

There are too many manufacturers in the game to have individual used car dealers, we need a centralised thing like GT4 had.

But it needs to be dynamic, there needs to be some element of randomness, some luck involved in finding that low mileage gem you've been hoping for. Having rare low mileage cars appear randomly would create an online car market (If online trading is in the game), in the same way rare items go for unbelievable amounts of ingame currency in MMORPGs. To be fair, online trading would be useless without it, as all cars can be bought or won at some point anyway. The GT4 system, where the used cars were fixed, was not good, it gave me no reason to check the used car dealers regularly. The fact there are some very kind people with a lot of time on their hands in communities like this, means the used cars get noted down, meaning if I was looking for a particular car, I could just look it up. Not fun, we need dynamic used car dealerships.

Kinda on topic I think that the race series like Nascar or Super GT should have their own dealership(series dealerships). That way its a little more organized.

Just a thought
:)

GT4's used car dealers.

Historic Showroom (80's and earlier used cars sold here).
Used Car Showroom I (early 90's used cars sold here)
Used Car Showroom II (late 90's used cars sold here)

What's your point here?

To enlighten you. To remind you of GT4.

Anyway, back on topic please.

hmm i think even if biased GT4 way of selling olders cars is ftw !

I mean you can buy old cars with great mileage. But if you try to collect cars with low mileage you are seriously goin to spend weeks to buy some old car with 10km/mile mileage.

The thing i hate is winning cars as prizes EVERY TIME !!!

This destroys game economics. Buying TOYOTA GT-ONE isn't any pain since you have special missions where you get some WRC cars sold for 250k each..

Best possible option for me will be just unlocking possibility of buying that car.

Next neat idea would be like Ferrari thing. You can't buy from them Enzo till you have more than 2-5 ferraris (like in real life).

Also i don't like idea of buying from company dealers cars like Clio V6 that was only 1000 models produced...

same with charger, bugatti lm etc. Legendary cars thing shold be like showroom or museum without possibility of buying cars (like mercedes museum)

This rare gems should be bought by you in used cars dealers part. And then mileage should be more like death to a car. 10 km mileages should be goin for 10x or original prices not by 0,60 ...

Also when you are selling car it shouldn't worth 10k when you invested in it 200k.
Also cars that winned some racing events like le mans or 24 h should be gaining boost in car price. (thre is boost but it's toooooo small)

Also owning lots of cars from the same producer = discount...

that's my 50c ..

edit.

and last one thing neat idea would be getting a sponsor and racing team. They will provide you a car for a race. AND ONLY FOR A RACE. So it isn't your :)

It's easier just to have them in their respective manufacturer.

Although I wouldn't mind a car search type of thing.(I know F2 had one, not sure on F3 since I haven't played it)

I quite like those ideas!!! I hope PD is listening...

Specially the one regarding cars that achieve special milestones like winning Le Mans. Like an expansion to the "Diary" we had in GT4, I loved that feature. Also, In my opinion, the reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally rare cars that are shown like in a museum form should be seen in used car lots at very high prices instead of won in races.

If they started putting used car dealerships back into the manufacturer dealerships imagine how long it would take to sift through every car dealership to find your ideal first car? Or check what different used cars become available every time it changes? No thanks.
