Useless Feature in the game consuming memory usage that can be used for other things.

Please share your opinions and comments in what PD/Kaz lacks features and options in this game. Hopefully someone from PD is looking at this thread and can see that all we ask is for a proper finish logical racing game "sim".

My very best, B-spec. Why in the world would I want this feature to be half of the game in GT life career mode? This is a "Driving Simulator" supposedly not an AI racing simulator. "200 Cars premium" 800 standard that you can not even change the wheels on them including iconic cars like the Toyota Supra and others. Lack of customization rear spoiler instead of a front spoiler all racing cars have both front and rear no matter if is standard or premium, lack of wheels etc. All I can say is that there is a lot of "Useless Features" in GT5. A lot of fans are angry and its disappointing because all we ask is to be logical with a racing game even more when its a claim that it is the "Real Driving Simulator".

Oh, hard disk memory.

If we were talking about ram, I don't know what I would take out but I'd want backgrounds fully loaded for the rally/ice challenges so roads and mountains in the ditance don't suddenly *pop up*.

B, I think there's already a thread for this kinda thing.
C, unless you're going for 100% completion I don't think you need to worry.
D. In reality I don't think it actually takes up half the space. Might be half the game, well more like a third, but I don't think it takes up as much space as all of the other features.
 
I'd like to deposit a small amount of money on a used car as a hold, MUCH more events in aspec MUCH more, def not enough events in aspec. Oh and more events in aspec would be nice. I love the used car dealership tho that thing is great. And did I mention more events in aspec mode?? Because there just isn't enough events. And g25/27 support should have been 100% out of the box, what have they been doing these last six years...

almost 6 Years waiting for this experiment what was prologue for? a hold up? You don't spend 6 years updating gt4 graphic with a couple of more cars and a crappy game result. I think he had enough time don't you think. You saying now he knows so that means we will get the real GT5 in 8 to 10 years complete wow.

And Tourist Trophy, and GTHD... People like you are the ones that rant. You don't seem to get the PD hasn't JUST worked on GT5 since GT4's release.
 
Totally agree. B Spec consumes resources. Photo travel could be like the one in GT4. We can have a healthy amount of cars without repeating models. Just imagine how many historical cars, or simply the car that you dream of is missing because of the over 9000 Honda Civics and Nissan Skylines?

Not a single one, because the civics and so on are easy copy and paste models! And there is enough space to edit more cars.

A) GT5 is NOT a sim. iRacing IS a sim. You can't even adjust tire pressure in this "game", what does it simulate? 800hp civic with the softest racing slicks charging into every turn crashing everyone on its way by 12 year old with a vibrating controller?

B) Lots of people like B Spec.

C) GT5 is NOT "a real driving simulator", that is a "slogan", not a fact. You know like "HSBC - the world's local bank", but everyone knows HSBC is not really "the world's local bank".

Quit crying..GT is never complete.atleast we got the game cry babies(-_-)and it is a sim.you never raced a real race car befor?
 
Nice! This thread is as pointless at it sounded. B-spec only uses memory when you use it. It's not taking up any more room than A-spec. There really isn't anything they could remove or take away to make things better. The PS3 only has a 256MB graphics card, which is the biggest problem. You people just need to be either happy with the game or just not play it and trade it in.

You should probably account for a lot of the assets in GTPSP were drawn from previous GTs and a lot was reused in GT5 (as is evidenced by the errors carried over from GTPSP). So while sure it took time, it was really more of a two way port that happened alongside other stuff....

This should pretty much close this silly thread lol. Just sounds like another excuse to complain about whats been complained about before the game even came out.....
 
You also have to keep in mind, GT is an Racing RPG, and the B-spec mode really adds to that. So, if you don't want a Racing RPG...play Need for Speed or Forza.

I would really like to know if you can get a civic to 800 horsepower.

Because that would be awesome.
 
Take out the fancy map options, keep it simple like GT5p and also take out the Live leaderboard on the right side. Sure it's nice to have but just knowing what position you are in like in GT5p is good enough.
If this frees up enough RAM to put back proper shadows than it is totally worth it.

Also if they are not doing deferred rendering for the environment shadows?
If they are not I hope they will. Eg dynamically baked the shadows so you don't have to calculate it on the fly.

The funny part is that is not a RPG the other is that PD/Kaz states that this game is "The Real Driving Simulator". Yes B-spec it is helpful especially during 24hr races. But to make it Mandatory as half of the game is stupid in every way. Trust me you will get tired of watching 50laps of an AI just conducting the stupid AI. I find the B-spec very useless for that he should of come up with GT5 B-spec.That is why there's replay. Hello "Driving Game", yes please I would like to drive in this game not watch AI drive. I would like to used the AI fast forward finish the 24hr race in 4 hours but not watch or wait for the AI 24hrs later.

So pretty much you are satisfied with this 6 year wait for this GT5, Or u don't seem logical on other real features that can be added and improved the game to make it better instead of a B-spec.

800 cars u wont be able to exchange wheels or turn them into racing cars. But wait you can but with a Factory look how bad is that and in it took them 6 years to give us 200 cars come on that is lame my friend.

Don`t get me wrong i can make a post of the great things about this game which are tons, but what makes it hard to believe how hard they have fail with some of the greatest features of past Gt series, seriously it is common sense.

It is very disappointing to see something about to go perfect(gt4) and get almost ruin all over because they want to take a whole new direction when the path has already been there since gt1.

thank you sir. I'm not saying it shouldn't be in the game completely but It shouldn't be enforce in the game. It is simple PD should of kept it like in Gt3 and 4 you go into the pits, take a break from driving and let AI drive for you in fast forward.

By the way that event sucks, just letting AI compete boring and lame.

1. Nice double post.

2. And it really IS an RRG. Especially the B-spec mode. I mean, there you're playing the role of a team owner, you can have up to six drivers, and level them up by entering them in races. In A-spec, you play the role of a racer and you can level up, there, as well. And as you climb through the levels you gain experience and collect cars. It's an RPG.
 
How are you forced to play b-spec? No you won't get 100%, but so what? If you don't like it, stop moaning and don't use it, do 100% of the stuff you do wanna do. Did you go round getting the hundreds of secret packages in GTA? I certainly didn't,but some people did,fair play to them.

I quite like b-spec, my Bob is alright,and its another way making money when I'm eating dinner or on the phone :)

You contradicted yourself but it is understandable again i didn't say take out B-spec because it is useful while taking a break or doing 24hr races. But why make it such a huge part of the game that if i don't used it i wont get 100% again guys I'm going to repeat my words. "They should have kept B-spec the same way it was in Gt3 and in Gt4" thank you. They are things more important that concern the community other than a B-spec career mode.

On the Rpg note, OK you won but B-spec still shouldn't be such a priority to the genre when other things that are missing are more important.
 
B-spec consumes resources? Are we talking disc space here? Because GT5 is only 19.6 GB, there's plenty left. If you mean man hours, then perhaps, I doubt it took too long to whip together though, and lots of people do like it so saying that you don't is kinda pointless.

I´ll have to agree with you on the fact that I´m also enjoying the game for what it is. I repeat events also, I mean, who didnt do that on previous GT´s?
I have to agree also on the fact that there is too much complaining. But everyone has the right to express their opinion. I know that the game has its negative details, but to be honest, I´ve learned to live with them quiker than I did with previous GT´s negatives.
I have to agree also on the fact that I would never leave GT for any other racing game. I like NFS, with all its glitches and bugs, I´m a car guy, and I like car games.
On one thing I have to partialy disagree... The B-spec mode was a mistake. It took resources, and A-spec could have been longer because of that. Now, I´m not saying B-Spec is bad, no. It is good, but if they left it like in GT4. Optional...

Bottom line is, most of us don´t even remember how long we waited for GT5, and we are enjoying it like we never did with other GT titles. And with its small details, GT5 is THE BEST racing game there is right now. and in the future, it will only be surpassed by one game... Gran Turismo 6.
