Of course you can, but the objective was not to countersteer and to use the throttle and brake to control the drift angle throughout the corner ;)

sumimasen... and i figured out IRL woohoo... and yeah i know about the throttle and turbo lag.. also keeping in high rpm for the next shift.. but i mean.. you dont have to have your foot on the gas to drift.. the car would just want to tuck in.. but if you have something heavy enough and you go in fast enough your inertia could get you through couldnt it?
You might be able to make it through short turns without using the gas, but it's impossible to make it through anything of any kind of distance and/or arch. The throttle is what keeps the car moving along the track, without the use of both throttle and brake (in AWD drift) the car will just follow inertia and slide in one direction (off the track).. ;)

My only suggestion for an AWD drift car is to mix tires.

Agreed.. won't go so far as to say "only".. but it works brilliantly... my 4WD/AWD cars that I drift with I use mixed tyres... the result - speaks for itself :)

funny i thought drifting was a controlled slide using wheight breaking or throttle to initiate it... so why do you have to use the break and the gas?

Ever went through a side shooter and knew where every enemy was and was able to kill them all before they could even get a shot off? It's the same way with me and GT3 now. I don't need to control anything, the workings of the game's physics are so deeply inbedded in my skull that I rarely have to control, let alone think about any turn I take. (especially in my ZZII)

That happens after only 6 months. A great deal of drifters here have been drifting for more than a year. If you ask me, that only makes it -more- fun.
