Hey does anybody know if the NSX will ever get the V8 engine and be brought to the US under the Honda tag, as i heard about a year ago? And if so, when?

im not sure if honda/acura knows how to build a V8. but the result would be a decent car....similar to the xj220

There is talk of an all-new NSX - in fact companies often do a hasty redesign to make the car look "fresh" and stick it in people's minds before they bring out an all-new model.

So "probably Spring 2004" but don't hold your breath.

Ah ok, thanks. I think it would be cool though. Its rumored to be 400 bhp and four hundred somethind lbs of tourque, but they would cut back on the wieght ruduction to keep it around the same price.

ok mopar....formula cars don't count then? honda builds motors, any type/size/orientation. they definitely know how to build strong reliable engines, especially when you look some of their displacement to HP ratios. however, i highly doubt honda will plug a v8 into the nsx and it will never, ever come to the US under a Honda badge. the NSX will be an acura on this side of the water until the earth ceases to exist....sucks.....but thats how she beez. c ya!

Forgive me for being an ignorant Aussie, but where's the disadvantage in it being an Acura?

ahahahahaa....... that's like saying i'm not sure if dodge knows how to build a flat/boxer type engine. lol which i'm pretty sure they could if they wanted to.

anyways i heard the NSX was supposed to come with a electric engine combined with a v6 to put out 400 hp :odd:

That would be the Honda Dualnote/Acura D-NX, and that's a four-door sports-coupé. The petrol engine would put out 276bhp, while the electric one delivers 124bhp and massive torque. The result is a brutal acceleration - well, at least in GTC.

Acura/ Honda will not come out with a v8 so ive herd. They might tho because of the decrease of sales due to other companies with V8s. Also they lost their flagship car in 96 when the got rid of the Acura Legend.

damn i was just being sarcastic! s-a-r-c .... did i spell that right?
well NO CHIT honda/accura knows how to build a V8 i have just never seen a honda v8. thats why i said that. man, you people and your damands!
