No country should have two races. If you want a European GP make it in Belgium, considering that's where I'd say the main part of Europe is (Ie the EU).

It will probably be interesting but two races for one country is a no-no imo.

That would be 2 in Belgium with Spa already on the calender though wouldn't it? Could Zolder host a modern GP?

Why not have two races in Spain? Take advantage of Spain while they’re willing to shell out to see Alonso. It only makes sense.

I think there's room for a second US GP, this time at a real circuit, something like Road America?

A race at Indy is always going to be compared (unfavourably) to the Indy 500.

Agree that two races in one country is a no no as it's unfair on other countries, another country that could hold a race in the countries second race's place. That said, making money out of Alonso is obviously the big decider for the FIA

The US could possibly host 2 races since its quite a big country. One on either side so to speak.

Personally i dont care if 1 country has 5 and another has none. Racing will still happen.

I wonder if they would make Catalunya the "Catalonian GP".
I believe ti would be known as the "Mediterranean Grand Prix".

Sure, there's whinging about Spain getting two bites at the cherry ... but the Valencia round will be another street circuit. And Singapore will make three rounds on streets. Who knows, maybe London will get to have a go (I've never been a huge fan of Silverstone).

Speaking of Singapore, here's the version that appeared in the latest issue of F1 Racing compared to the proposed track put forth by the government. It's roughly the same, but the red line is the one that appeared in the magazine ...

And here's what Valencia will look like (or at least, this is the proposal).

The seven-year agreement is conditional on the Partido Popular holding power in local elections to be held this month.

"The contract will not be signed until after the election, but I'm convinced it will happen," said Ecclestone.

As a spanish citizen I am, I must say this agreement pisses the hell out of me, and I'll hate Ecclestone to death from now on.

Why? It’s probably a fair chunk of government money going into the track, and I’d guess only one of the potential candidates is willing to use Spanish government money to pay for the race.

Its a street circuit? I was under the assumption it was gonna be on the Ricardo Tormo circuit..AWESOME!!

Ecclestone stipulated that the race had to be a street circuit. Alonso said he found it odd that they were forced to have a street race when Ricardo Tomo is nearby, but I think Mr. E wants to prove that street circuits are a viable part of the sport's future.
