Sounds like your at an awkward age mate....The teenage years are tough, and getting tougher everyday.
The ammount of pressure on you kids is crazy, to be cool, get laid as early as possible ect.
Everyone trying so hard to be unique but all ending up looking and acting the same.

Type S Tony has a point in that there are people worse off, and yes that is something to consider for sure. But the truth is these people feel bad for US, because we have too much, I know a girl who said they pray for us Westeners!

Good luck being yourself. It's a lot harder than you think at that age.
When I was at school I was trying so hard to be cool that I wasn't. After I left school and stopped trying it can pretty easily and I realised that being cool is just being yourself. The problem I had then was I didn't know who I was and still don't! I'm 25 years old now with a lovely wife and a great life and I still don't know who I am truly and I have to take medication for depression, anxiety and partial split personality disorder.
My point to you OP would be to find out/ know who you are and stay that way because people will always like a person being their true self over some clown trying to be something they're not
I've had the same problems at school, liking my (girl) friends but them not having the same feelings for me. I now have a girl in my office who tells me, from time to time when she's drunk, that she's in love with me and it's so hard to deal with but I have no choice but to deal with it because 🤬 happens and that's life.

It's easy or hard to be yourself depending on your personality, if you're trying to act with the crowd and failing you're better off being yourself and then fitting in, for example, I'm not popular, in fact, I'm one of the more hated people, because of my appearance, I'm the music loving guy with long hair, so they give me 🤬 for it, I be myself but i hide my emotions, one thing I learnt in the past week is, don't hide emotions, it just brings you down, escape to your bowling, for me it's music, but whatever floats your boat, or sinks it, bowling balls are heavy you know :dopey:

But yeah, embrace the beauty mother nature has to offer, you're only given one shot, make life a win. :)

Being myself is going to be difficult. Today has been tough, but I'm workin hard.

What I can't understand: people say "Uh, yeah but in Africa..." - you realize that he can't change what's going on there? Or that he's even directly touched by that? He's having a different, no doubt smaller, problem than other people have. But still, it's a problem and resolving it will improve his life.

Taking things less offensive is often better - it'll not increase your post counter but do the forum good, I guess.

Well I didn't have a perfect day, but I had some interesting things happen today. That girl I was talking about, we had a good conversation and we're just friends. I think that's for the best. I still have feelings for her, but they are more mutual than anything. Today was the best day I had in a long time, it's also the old man's birthday.

Sometimes just getting to spend time with a girl you like is worth getting friend zoned for.

Well that's the philosiphy I like to hear. At least I'm able to talk to her, I feel lucky just being able to know her. I spent most of today just thinking about what I have to value in life, while it's not as much as other people have, the quality of life I have far exceeds what I ever thought. I spent so much time in life taking things for granted. That I had to actually had to think, what about people who don't even have the chance to experience what I have in life? I don't think it really is fair to complain about it. Reading the previous posts in this thread made me realize that this forum's members really do care for another, and I shouldn't take this for granted either. I am thankful for everything in life and thankful for being able to be part of this awesome community. to everyone.

I can't get the video. It says it has WMG content and is not allowed to play in this country due to copyright laws.

Strange, we're in the same country and I don't have a problem...

Perhaps its because my phone's web browser thinks I'm in Oslo, Norway half the time. Yeah because I packup my bags to go to Scandinavia and use some guy in Norway's internet.

LOL, "grab life by the horns and wrestle that bi*ch down"

"I've been to counselors before, i don't feel as if i need to yet. this is more just a problem with the way I'm thinking right now. everytime i felt bad or anything i thought about what i have, and how lucky i am to have it. life is a never ending roller coaster. theres highlights, then there times you hit rock-bottom. thats what makes life great, the fact that you never know what is going to happen, one day to the next. the key to the purpose of life lies within everyone of us, we just need to learn and understand, to love and love again, and to live like, act like, and be the person we're supposed to be, ourselves. We need to recognize that our individualism is what makes us all the same. We are all equal. Only then, we can use that key we've searched long and hard for, to unlock our full potential and consider our lives purposeful. everyday we unlock more knowledge, its our job to analyse and learn from it."
-Alex Vanderbrand (Vandenal)

:odd: Couldn't of said it better myself... Hopefully today goes swell, chocolate cake for lunch means I'll for sure have a happy afternoon. Thanks for posting my facebook message Mr. CoolFiat.

Chances are you're not going to meet 'the one' in high school anyway. Just be yourself and make a lot of friends and enjoy having almost no responsibility for as long as you can.

+ 1

You will mature and endure a lot between the ages of 20-25, so don't worry about dating or meeting "the one" at this age. She's probably going to morph into "the 1.25" or "the 0.87" over the next few years for the very same reason.

I could imagine the slap I would get from a girl if I said, 'You're the 0.87 I want to be with, forever.' Nothing makes a girl feel better than devaluing her. Sarcasm, note the sarcasm.

Well, looking down at her chest and telling her "You're the two I want to be with" might also backfire.

My girlfriend is just smiling if I do that. Ok well...it wouldn't have worked in order to jumpstart the actual relationship, I guess.

Lucky you. I got caught looking at this one girls 'gifts' one time and wow, did I get verbally blasted. It seems to be that all the girls talk to me about their problems for advice anymore. I calmed a few of them down by changing the discussion, showing them funny pictures, somehow comforting them. Like Skuzzila said earlier, I'm the guy who treats them nice, they go date a :censored:hole, get dumped or cheated on then they cry on my shoulder, I make them feel better. Then the cycle repeats.

I had the same problem, at the end of the day I found women like men to be men, the sensitive side is nice but sometimes you just got to be an ***hole....I don't understand it but it worked.

If you can blend ***hole and nice guy you will do well.

That's probably terrible advice 👍

No, its the truth Mike. The fact is that I've never really been a :censored:hole, and I don't plan on becoming one either. I'll find the right one for me eventually, right now I'm just having fun and being friendly.

I know it makes no sense, but it got to the stage where I like you, became the "Go-too" guy whenever all these girls (who knew I liked them) had problems.

Was acting like there boyfriend but with none of the benefits. In the end I just decided to say things as they are, I told her if she has problems with her boyfriend too bad, sort it out with him, im not your relationship counciler anymore, do you know how much of a slap in the face it is for you to whine about your relationship when you know i'm crazy about you, and you know I would be a better boyfriend?
******** to that **** anymore.

You know what? she dumped him and spent the next year trying to win me over.
But by then I met someone else.

So, being an ***hole can be effective lol

I'm about to reach that point, and I almost did it a couple days ago. The one girl was asking me 'why would he cheat on me?' and I replied 'maybe because your blind and are failing too see he is a total 🤬, and why are you even talking to me about this?' I went to send the message, but she went offline before I could. :grumpy:

Well I've gained a few friends and know my old friends better now. But all the girls that I like except the one I liked before basically ignore me now. I want to say 🤬 and ignore thinking about this stuff, but that's just impossible. I feel like I'm going crazy.

I was once depressed,
Yeah...once.

Ill admitt my first post was a bit out of line but seriosuly man your problems vs the rest of the wrolds renders it so insignificant that its almost laughable.

Your young, just take a chill pill & ride the rollercoaster, be happy with what you have and aspire to get what you dont have.

its really not that bad.

That's what everyone told me, but I know what Vandernal's going through, I've had some one in the same problems in my life. There's no way you are or should speak to a person in dire straights like Vandenal here. How do you even know what he's gone through. Yeah sure there are starving people etc etc, I donate to those foundations myself. But you don't go talking assumptions about how bad or good things are for people.

Tony, DO YOU HAVE ANY 🤬 IDEA OF THE 🤬 I've BEEN THROUGH? Half of my family is 🤬 arguing about who is going to get the most stuff when my Nana dies, and the other half is dying of cancer. My closest brother is on the other side of the country because that's the only place he can get a job. Hell, half my family hates me. So if you don't like what I need to talk about, get out of the thread and gamble away your life savings playing poker.

I feel ya man. I went through some absolute crap recently and it's boiled down to me picking my sorry ass off the ground and working some things out...but not as simply as our Tony dude here reckons it is. It takes time and patients. If you want any comfort, even just a talk, just give us a buzz.

Here man, mix some if this stuff with your morning coffee for the next couple of weeks.

You may want to take your skirt of and grow a moustache in the mean time.

I know that many people have had worse problems than I have, and I try to use that as motivation. But its not that easy. I can be happy for one day, but then the rest of the week seems like hell. I tried somethings last year to make me feel better, things not mentionable (illegal) that I'm not proud of. I only want to feel better, so I got involved with a group (of bad people) for about a week. If it wasn't for a good friend, my best friend getting me out of that 🤬, I would probably be kicked out of school. So I have progressed a lot since then, but it feels like I stepped on an icy step on the stairway to success, and I'm about to have to start climbing again from the bottom. Everytime I try to do something to improve my life, I do another thing that makes it worse than it was before. It feels like I'm not controlling myself, like I'm a passenger in my own body.

look man, its good that your making progress to being an all round happier person, Re-assurance is the key. keep re assuring yourself untill you cant take it any more than keep doing it more after that!

Thanks for the positive comments Tony. I need all the motivation I can get right now.
