Conceptually, the car is brilliant. I love cars that openly embrace and blend the lines of aviation and automotive technology. There is also some strong influence from the Italian vehicles of the same, specifically with the wedge shape being familiar with what was coming out of Lamborghini's factories.

+1 for Doug as well. Love that guy.

@Gotbeefboy564 it really does seem like sometimes, that you’ve seen every car in the world! Michigan car shows really do have every car under the sun.
Detroit is great for summer/spring car shows, now I’m bored because of winter nothing happens through November till March when Autorama happens.

Two years in a row too the black one came last year. Hopefully another will come for the 2020 St. John’s concourse.

IIRC, the founder recently sold both his prototypes for this car’s successor(?) for a hefty $1m+.

@Vectorw8015, was there supposed to be something more to that car than just doubling the W8’s power and streamlining the design?

Wow, what are the odds of an actual owner being on this forum?

I’d be interested to know what else you have in your collection @Vectorw8015

Hi Mike, The W8 is the big toy in the collection. My other cars are a little more modest. I have a 2015 Platinum Tundra 550 hp Supercharged.
2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS with 300 engine hp. 210 hp at all 4 wheels on the dyno.
1965 427 Cobra kit car
2007 Nissan 350z Nismo edition.
2005 C6 Corvette Convertible
And we are in the process of building a 1985 Porsche 962C and putting it on the road.
Because I use to work for Vector the W8 is a part of my life and history. Hence the reason for owning it.

Actually AWX3 and AWX-3R were not sold by choice. Jerry had leveraged them against a loan from a bank. He was unable to repay the loan and the cars were auctioned off to close out the balance owed. A sad situation to loose 2 very significant cars.

Way too cool.
Thank you.

When you say putting it on the road... do you mean making it road legal?

Yes we will be taking the car and putting a plate on it so it can be driven on the street. The 962's had 650hp and weighed a tick over 1900 lbs. My car should weigh under 2100 lbs with air conditioning. And have between 650 and 850hp. So it should be faster than the cars were in 1985. We are gearing her for 255 mph at 6500 rpm. IMG_4568.JPG

A photo of the XTRAC 386 sequential 6 speed Daytona prototype transaxle for the 962.
