Hello I am new to these boards so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
I purchased GT6 new about 4 days ago and have not been able to play it at all. I get a message saying it needs to update to ver 1.15. There seem to be about 14 patches that take A DAY to download. Once they download and begin to install I get a message that says "Installation has failed." After this happens, I delete the game data file in the game data utility and start again. This has happened three times over the span of 4 days and I'm getting rather fed up. If anyone could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What if you try to load the game again without deleting the game data? Also, as the updates are pretty chunky in size, check that you do have enough space on your PS3's HDD.

.........Okay let's see here...
1: Are you using a wired or wireless connection? Generally go with wired to be safe.
2: Try updating and installing one at a time. With exception of 1.02, which has a massive bug, so that one might be tricky. There's a "guide" for this update in www.gran-turismo.com
3: I feel for ya.
4: Some folks recommend unplugging ethernet cable as soon as download for an update is complete; it seems to work for them, so give that a whirl too; it's just a little tedious to do, as you gotta download an update, unplug, install, then quit back to XMB, then plug the ethernet.....damn I'm tired just thinking about it...

You may want to use the installation guide here.

Also, don't try to install ALL of the updates in one go. People have problems when they do that. I believe one of the guides was to update as usual until 1.07, then cancel the downloads, and install the downloaded updates onto your PS3 when GT6 starts up.

Then, do the updates one by one. By doing this, you are dramatically decreasing the chance of your installations failing. Every time you update, cancel the downloads and install the update onto GT6.

According to GT's website, after 1.12 (or 1.13, whichever update added Circuito de la Sierra), the problems do not occur, and you can proceed to download as normal.

I will admit that installing all these updates is a pain- it took me 8 hours to go from 1.01 to 1.07, then from 1.07 to 1.13 :yuck:

Also, may be a stretch, but have you checked if you have enough space on your PS3? I'm sure GT6 has taken at least 8GB of my storage (probably less, probably more, I don't know.)

OK everyone, I have taken your advice about installing the updates one at a time it is time consuming yes, but at least I can play the game now. I'm not done installing all of them but it seems to be working. Thank you everyone!
