Version 2.10 car changes

So, is there a list of the hot cars now? I have seen posts that people are being kicked from rooms for using some of the overdogs. This is just not good for the community.

Supra
Carlton
Muscle Cars
Speed 12
Anything else emerging?

Anything else emerging?

PONTIAC GTO 5.7 COUPE '04 // 500PP
CHEVROLET CORVETTE C5-R (C5) '00 // 600PP
ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH '04 - 500PP
PONTIAC SOLSTICE // 500PP

and some other few that i don't have in mind right now but i'm about to test them these days.

@MCH I would hazard a guess that the BMW Z4, RX-7 and the Altezza/IS200 family of cars are making mincemeat of the 400PP rooms.

Praiano ran a very fast DB7 at 450PP and I tested a very quick Crossfire at 450PP as well, though not sure if those two are as hot as some of the Muscle cars that got boosted.

PONTIAC SOLSTICE is 450PP sorry , it don't go anymore to 500 now. It's even 7 seconds faster than the DB7'00 on the ring

Not as fast as the vanquish, but the Jaguar XFR and X-type are very quick at 505pp from what i tested.
i also run the G37 Concept '04 at 485pp in 505pp room and its faster than the CSL at 505pp.

A few weeks back I decided to run a comparative test of racing cars set at 575pp, just to see: (A.) If there were any that would massively outclass the rest (so I could add a gentleman's agreed ban for when I ran the race online. (B.) How diverse a range of cars would fit into said category. I pretty much had around 60 or so tested already, with another batch of 70 in the favourites tab ready to test when 2.10 hit. Most of the cars lost a massive chunk of PP during the change.

Dodge SRT8 TC dropped to 514pp, and when I changed the power limiter to hit 575pp it had gained almost 300bhp over the previous setting.
Wedssport Celica, I had to add 2kg of ballast to the fully modified car for a 575pp setup. Now, without ballast or any reductions at all, it has 561pp!

Most of the GT300 cars were affected in a substantial way, so much so that I've pretty much given up on this test until they sort it out or confirm this is the way it'll be for the forseeable future.

Lotus Elise Sport 190 1:28.2

Top Gear lap test track times.

It's about time the elise was not the top car in PP racing because in RL, farmers car > elise.

Ignore the part where the Maloo in question has stupid amounts of power and a not-exactly-terrible-for-track-use suspension setup.

In Australia we build utilities/ Jr Trucks as some Americans refer them to as, We do make them around a performance base line, if you wish to compare the Elise to the HSV Maloo ute, get the Elise 111R and set a lap then get the Commodore SS and set lap time, the Commodore SS and the HSV Maloo are the same car underneath, engine, gearbox, etc,

I'd like to see the series where thsat is true....lol...none that I'm aware of. Sure you may find a "mustang" vs. A "ferrari" but neither one of them bears any resemblence to their street counterpart. My point is that under the PP system the Mustang needs 100+ HP to compete with the Ferrari and their track speeds are so mismatched cornering and straightline, it isn't really a race but a time trial, with each fighting for the same real estate maybe once or twice a lap.

PD what are you doing? ive just won a 575pp race around the nurburgring against some very good drivers in my 518pp supra RZ how is that fair?

Look on the bright side, at least you will have a huge performance bonus :dopey: .

What do you have added to you cars? That may be your trouble..

going to lay off playing the game until they do something about it. on to f1 2012

People have been successfully working round shortcomings of the PP system since it was belatedly introduced in an earlier update.

Consider joining a club or league, members tend to test and establish a group of well matched cars for a series. Testing doesn't have to be the chore it sounds, as it can be good fun trying out different cars with mates in more relaxed environment than a full-on official race.

So, guys help me to figure this out. If I got it straight the performance points system is totally f.....d up. This should explain why my 458 got smoked yesterday in Monza against a CL63 and a Supra RZ.
Then shouldn't we ignore the p.p parameter totally and instead place restrictions on bhp and kg's?

Did some drifting with my supra earlier on today, but I can tell you that the physics have had a major change with some cars. My supra feels really weird and it doesn't want to slow down when going around corners.

Well, we didn't make a list of unfair or dominant cars before, and people have been kicking them for a while now...

Quite frankly, overall, my opinion is that PD didn't "**** up" the PP system, but actually just changed it from "**** up 1", to "**** up 2".

I never investigated the PP system that much, but our shootouts have pretty much told the tale that there have always been only a couple top dogs at every PP level. They're just faster with worse handling (harder to drive) that dominate instead of easy to drive and dominating.
Could even be "better" in theory. (Just because it's no longer the easiest cars to drive that dominate)

Maybe finding the middle ground of PP would be better, take for example, Supra RZ tuned to 470PP, then cars that were tuned for 500PP ( NSXs, M3s, other dominating cars ) be lowered to 470PP as well, then restrict to SH tires, maybe the gap in performance would be lessened. Worth a try, I think.

The PP system was changed. Your OP 458 will not dominate anymore. It's no big deal though, just switch to a car that will.

Just to update, I heard that the Lexus IS 200 has been changed and it is no longer competitive against other cars in a similar PP range. I can't remember what PP it had before the update though.

The point was back then though that the Elise and the other top cars were not completely unbeatable with a good tune and a good driver, but now, no matter how s**t you are at driving, so long as you can keep the car on the track, the new FR muscle cars will dominate hands down, no contest. I think that's the big problem.

well, here is the not so big thing people are forgetting, you can limit the BHP, KG and PP in any room, therefore if you want close racing you simply restrict them all, for example a good room restriction would be,

224BHP, 1400KG, 420PP, sports hard tires,

the stupid thing is PD are to ignorant to recognise that things like upgrading the clutch, gearbox, LSD etc should add to a vehicles PP, which it doesn't, I also believe tires should be included into a PP per car too,

that's because people are giant stains, and well, I believe the X1 should be only available online the same way you can only use the Ferrari F1 car, lock the room to it!

I think the change encourages replica HP and torque builds.
My 76hp Mini Marcos GT is 389pp stock. PD is making changes in preparation for class racing
and GT6 cats. This is just phase one. That's my thought.

 You referring to yourself or inferring you're some kind of alien?

I think they did pretty good. All the cars that got the HP boost are yachts. Stop using race soft tires and you'll destroy them yet again.
