VERY ANGRY! (Given wrong Prize Car?)

Hehe, I was hoping I didn't get another crappy car, I had previously checked all my cars that were made by Toyota and all I have is the Triathlon car

Can you go to home and look in your diary. It will show when you raced the El Capitan and then the next diary entry should say "Prize car delivered" or something like that.

It would be interesting to see what the diary says ie does it say it gave you that car or not.

Maybe we have random prize cars like GT3 but it does not show them all.

I don't even think you can enter the El Capitan Endurance race with a 787B?? It's all street cars in there... no racing cars. Or did you run your 787B with sports tires and did the game accept it?

The restriction is only tires though. It does not say road cars only and it does not say non modified cars.

Other race series have these restrictions as well.

Prize cars... after a hard race, you could be awarded a car you don't have to pay for. Expand your garage by winning money and cars. Be sure to find the right car list for the version of GT you're playing. I recently printed out all eight pages of the gamefaqs.com North American Prize Car List. So I'll know what races I have to win to get what car. You have the North American version? If I did the El Capitan 200 with the same car I won it with (Amuse S2000 GT1), I'd probably get another Minolta-sponsored Toyota 88C-V. But whatever race you have to win to get the Minolta Toyota or the Nissan R92CP, get them. They are easily two of the best cars in the game and a Godsend for the bigtime race series.

And you're angry over all this, chill! Relax. By the way, the NSX-R Concept LM Race Car isn't TOO lame. I think I tried to use that car in the Dream Car Championship in the Extreme Events, I wouldn't recommend using it in that series. I MAY want to recommend that for the JGTC race series in the Japanese events. I, however, used the Nissan 350Z Concept LM Race Car (fast and powerful), so I don't know how much success you'll have with it. Of course if you don't like the car, it sells for about 300K Credits, so if you're investing in an LMP, it's a nice way to start.

The Sauber is only a prize car for that race in the Japanese version, you get the Auto Union in the NA version.

Anyways, I'm quite bummed right now. I'm at about 86%, but wont be playing GT4 any time soon. The dreaded case of the disc read error came back to take hold of my PS2.

I really, really used to like Sony. I just cant believe how big of a piece the PS2 is though. I shouldnt have to send my PS2 in twice a year bc they cant fix the laser correctly 👎 I've never had any problems with any other consoles and take great care of them, but my PS2 is just cursed. I never thought I'd say this, but my favorite console has to be XBOX.

However, Im extremely TOed that I'm not at 100% bc I've gotten there on every other GT. I just hope it starts working again through some miracle so I can finish this game before I get so mad that I throw the damn thing out my dorm window.

Ok, I'm not that mad, but I keep reading threads about winning the Minolta 88-CV Race Car on the El Capitan 200 Mile Endurance Race.

I didn't! It wasn't a hard race, but I got a lame NSX-R Concept LM Race Car!

Why? What did I do wrong? I used the 787B to do the race, that shouldn't matter anyway. I have the North American Version. I live in America, I want the Minolta, Don't rip me off Polyphony.

Your post answers the question. The El Capitan requires street or sports tires which the 787B does not have. You must have entered the wrong race.

My bad, you can put sports tires on the 787B, So sorry for the srupid answer, I'll go back to sleep now!

I was able to fix it without a laser cleaner. And that doesnt always work. This has happened to me repeatedly for the last 3 years now, as my PS2 is one of the original NA launch consoles.

I had to actually send it to SONY for them to fix once (which they do for free if its a disc read error problem), I just dont want to have to do it again cause it takes over a month for it to go through.

I just fixed it last night though, but I doubt it will last very long. I give it another month or two before it comes back... at least I only have about 11% to go! 👍

Talking about not getting prize cars, what do you get for 75% completion 'cus I am on about 80- something percent and I didn't get a car when I passed 75%.
I had just finished Isuzu Sports Classics and was given the 117 Coupe but nothing else. What am I missing out on? Anyone got the same problem or is it just me?

Really? That's OK then. I'm sure I saw a prize car listed for it somewhere. Was there a 75% prize on the Japanese version or something, or am I imagining things.
